As I understand this.... The Hate Crime charge is because the victim is mentally disabled.

The answer is that the labeling of “hate crime” is the product of an agenda meant to go only one way. A crime is a crime, regardless of the criminal’s feelings or motive. But if we’re going to have them, it’s a hate crime in itself to have them only go one direction.
