Hitler’s Anti-Semitic Manifesto ‘Mein Kampf’ Becomes German Bestseller: Publisher

BERLIN (AFP) – The first reprint of Adolf Hitler’s “Mein Kampf” in Germany since World War II has proved a surprise bestseller, heading for its sixth print run, its publisher said Tuesday. The Institute of Contemporary History of Munich (IfZ) said around 85,000 copies of the new annotated version of the Nazi leader’s anti-Semitic manifesto had flown off the shelves since its release last January.

Anti-Semitic... hmmmmmm...
Jews aren’t the only Semites in the Middle East.
Semites include Egyptians, Syrians, many arabs and a lot of others who are moslem.

It is funny to read people on the Internet talk about how much they detest anti-Semites, and then, without the faintest hint of irony, start ranting about how much they hate other (non-Jewish) Semitic people.

Why do people feel an obligation to spout off, before doing an iota of research, and then have the hubris to consider themselves educated or doing a service in educating others?

Antisemitism does not mean hatred of Semites as a whole. The term was coined by the Austrian Jew hater, Wilhelm Marr, to differentiate scientific racial hatred of Jews from Medieval religious Judenhass. His Antisemitic League was dedicated to opposing Jews and only Jews.

>>2,000 page annotated version of the 900 or so page original. The annotations by anti-Nazi historians.

“It turned out that the fear the publication would promote Hitler’s ideology or even make it socially acceptable and give neo-Nazis a new propaganda platform was totally unfounded,” IfZ director Andreas Wirsching said in a statement.

“To the contrary, the debate about Hitler’s worldview and his approach to propaganda offered a chance to look at the causes and consequences of totalitarian ideologies, at a time in which authoritarian political views and rightwing slogans are gaining ground.”

So where might this search for the causes lead?

Julius Streicher gives us a few bread crumbs to follow from his place in the defendants’ dock at Nuremberg:

Julius Streicher, (Trial of The Major War Criminals Before the International Military Tribunal, Nuremberg, 1945, Vol. 12)

[Note, although Streicher had a part in the race laws, Hitler outlined his religious justification for the race laws in his private notes before he came into power.

When asked if there were any other anti-Semitic publications, other than Der Stürmer, published in Germany, Streicher replied:

Anti-Semitic publications have existed in Germany for centuries. A book I had, written by Dr. Martin Luther, was, for instance, confiscated. Dr. Martin Luther would very probably sit in my place in the defendants’ dock today, if this book had been taken into consideration by the Prosecution. In this book The Jews and Their Lies, Dr. Martin Luther writes that the Jews are a serpent’s brood and one should burn down their synagogues and destroy them...

Obviously religious "leadership" are vested with a significant responsibilty for the moral character of the culture within their purview.

Consider a culture where Lutheran children are, even in 2017, indoctrinated to regurgitate Martin Luther on command from, among other works, Luter's Small Catechism - whilst ignoring what Streicher references, not only in confirmation classes, but also in the history curriculum of their Elementary/High/University schools.

What, in that egregiously and willfully negligent educational context, is the cultural effect when those children later not only discover Martin Luther's  "On the Jews and their Lies" on the Internet - but discover that there are versions having significantly different text include (or excluded):

First to set fire to their synagogues or schools and to bury and cover with dirt whatever will not burn, so that no man will ever again see a stone or cinder of them. This is to be done in honor of our Lord and of Christendom...

...Second, I advise that their houses also be razed and destroyed. For they pursue in them the same aims as in their synagogues. Instead they might be lodged under a roof or in a barn, like the gypsies. This will bring home to them that they are not masters in our country, as they boast, but that they are living in exile and in captivity, as they incessantly wail and lament about us before God.

Third, I advise that all their prayer books and Talmudic writings, in which such idolatry, lies, cursing and blasphemy are taught, be taken from them. (remainder omitted)

Evidently we could use an English version.

Consider this revisionist gem:

"So he was an anti-Semite after all, wasn’t he? He was not. Anti-Semites are racists, and racists appeared on the scene much later in history—after the Enlightenment and the French Revolution. Luther did not think of Jews in ethnic terms; his bias was religious. Just before his death he admonished the princes to treat converts from Judaism as brethren. "

Honestly, I actually get irritated with the quote about “Those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it”, mostly because it’s such a false statement in what it implies: Namely, that learning from history automatically makes one immune to repeating those mistakes.

Let me remind everyone that Karl Marx was very learned about the French Revolution, certainly knew enough about that time period to know about the blood and guts fest that was the Reign of Terror in 1793. Under the pretense of that quote, he would have learned from history and avoided recreating it. But no, that’s not what he did or aimed to do. Instead, he not only wanted to re-enact that disaster known as the Reign of Terror, but he if anything desired to outright make it even GORIER than before. And don’t get me started on Sartre, who like all Frenchmen, knew enough about the French Revolution to know about the Terror, and he indicated they didn’t even kill ENOUGH people. Same goes for Foucault, also French, who took it one step further than even Marx or Sartre and demanded that everyone forsake any court of laws at all (even socialist “people’s courts”) and have everyone enact popular justice akin to the September Massacres. If anything, I see it as “People are doomed to repeat history, regardless of whether they learned it or not.”

And as far as the Talmud, on the one hand, being Catholic, I’m no fan of Martin Luther, or his anti-Semitism, and in fact, he probably should rot for that alongside his backstabbing us Catholics and ultimately causing Christendom to be fractured. On the other hand, though, he does have a point: That book definitely needs to be burned completely. It’s not even all that different from the Quran in its commands, and aside from that, not only outright MOCKED Mary and Jesus by implying the former was a prostitute and the latter is basically boiling in dung in Hell (already a disgusting treatment of them in itself), but they even have the irreverence and the audacity to claim that God the Father HIMSELF is essentially a marionette who can’t even do a thing unless the Rabbis cast a vote, and can even be tricked by the Rabbis. That’s... that’s just... That’s disgusting, and ultimately that book does far more of a disservice to the Jewish religion than it does actually helping them. I’d even tolerate God being a massive tyrant who would outright kill anyone who even dares disagree with him if it at least showed him being all-powerful and all-knowing enough to not be manipulated or rendered impotent by mortals. The Jewish people were better off if they had the Torah as their sole religious text.

I’m not fond of your talking bad about the Jesuits, though, or your implication they had a role in Marx. First of all, Marx gave up religion, so any teachings Jesuits may have imparted definitely were discarded by that point (not to mention, technically, Moses Hess also played a role in Marx’s later activities, and last I checked, Marx was no lover of Judaism as a race OR as a religion. Besides, the Jesuits also taught Voltaire, yet it’s pretty obvious they weren’t responsible for his later actions including the French Revolution, since he and his pals orchestrated their forced removal from France.

And honestly, I’m disturbed by Mein Kampf being issued again among Germans. Does it matter if it’s poorly written? No, it doesn’t. Heck, Das Kapital was poorly written, and I’m pretty sure even the French Enlightenment’s works would be deemed poorly written as well. Did it being poorly written stop them from being used as the blueprints for various horrendous events from the French Revolution up to the Nazis’ actions? Absolutely not. If anything, them even being read at all only ensures something similar will happen. The only way to ensure something like those past events never happens again IS to destroy the works completely.

Those who control the present control the past"

Yeah, I agree about that bit regarding controlling the past controlling the future, and the past being controlled by the present (though even there, sometimes you don’t even NEED to do that if you are that dead set on repeating the past even when you know it’s going to involve at least as bad as a result back then), but with all due respect to Orwell, although he did do a fine job exposing the horrors of Stalinism, he never really came close to exposing the true extent of the horrors of Communism/Socialism (heck, if anything, he indicated it wasn’t even as bad as it was until Stalin took over).

Take Animal Farm, for example: The only pigs actually depicted as bad guys were Napoleon (who is evidently supposed to be Stalin) and Squealer (propaganda minister). Snowball, who is meant to be a Lenin/Trotsky expy, and Old Major, who is clearly supposed to be Karl Marx himself, are depicted as decent characters, instead of truly being depicted as villains.

Had I had my way with Animal Farm, I’d make darn sure that Old Major and Snowball are also depicted in a similar villainous light to Napoleon. In particular, I’d have Old Major, after giving that speech, then leaving and expressing satisfaction that, while he may not live to see it, he’ll be able to look forward to the day “animals eat each other”, in clear foreshadowing of Napoleon’s later actions. And for Snowball, make him just as bad as Napoleon, and even telling the animals to literally kill each other simply for his own amusement, and even encourage rebellions against him simply to keep Animalism from getting stale regarding bloodletting while executing anyone who he accuses of trying to assassinate him, make fully clear just how nightmarish Animalism, and thus Communism truly was.

You are aware that Karl Marx had been more influenced by the French Revolution and Reign of Terror when creating Communism than by the Jesuits, right? For goodness sakes, the Jesuits were forced out of France in 1762, well before the French Revolution took place thanks in large part to the French Enlightenment. Don’t believe me, read this: http://www.newadvent.org/cathen/05418a.htm If anything, Marx had based his philosophy more on the likes of Voltaire, Diderot, and especially Jean-Jacques Rousseau than he did on the Jesuits.

Now, I will acknowledge that Jesuits have lost their way if Pope Francis is of any indication, but the rot started in the 20th century, long after Marx’s time. If anything, Marx influenced the Jesuit’s current corrupt nature, NOT the other way around.

I’m not sure how that has any relation to what I said there about Communism and Animal Farm. However, I will mention this much: you DO realize that there’s ample evidence to suggest that Eisenhower was also referring to the impending space race as well with that speech, right? I might as well add another tidbit you might not know: We were far ahead of the Russians in technological development back then, and if anything, them even LAUNCHING Sputnik first was deliberately allowed by Eisenhower specifically because he knew if America itself launched it first, Stalin and the USSR would claim that we technically broke international law and thus orchestrate a lot of protests akin to the Wisconsin rioters regarding Scott Walker’s election. In other words, the Russians sole achievement in that field was literally a handicap we gave them.

In fact, prior to that, he knew thanks to prior U2 spy plane reconnaissance that we had a massive edge over the USSR in terms of military satellites, rockets, and intercontinental ballistic missiles. And, by August 24, 1960, A U.S. Satellite managed to yield several pictures dealing with 1.5 million square feet of Soviet territory, among which included sixty-four airfields, twenty-six surface to air missile sites, and one major rocket launching facility, all of which managed to surpass years of U2 reconnaisance in only a matter of days, with the Soviets by that time having no comparable surveillance capabilities.

Pretty simple.

The Jesuits perfected their “beautiful” model of communism in their Farms (Reductions) in Paraguay.

Funny how the theocratic state-worshiping swine never teach the natives enough to actually RUN the farm themselves - but just enough to keep the apples, milk, and whiskey flowing into the farm house.
