We all know by now that Megyn Kelly opted to sign a comprehensive deal with NBC. It is also clear that competitor ABC News had been one of the top suitors. She even turned down a handsome $100 million package from Fox News to go to the peacock network for far less money. But, could Kellys recent appearance on Good Morning America have stopped that network from competing harder for the Fox News host? Mediaite has learned that the minute-by-minute ratings for GMA took a major (and surprising) dive during her segment on November 15 to promote her new book, Settle For More.
Acording to sources with access to those all important and specific network ratings, Kelly appeared for approximately 10 minutes at around 7:31 a.m, during that time, the ratings continued to plummet in particular compared to other days. Network execs across the board apparently expected that the Fox News hosts interview would boost the bottom of the 7 oclock hour especially since she was discussing controversial allegations against her former boss, Roger Ails. But that didnt happen.
He tried to kiss me three times and when I rejected that, he asked me when my contract was up, Kelly recounted to George Stephanopoulos during an exclusive interview.about her first year working as a reporter at Fox. I wrestled with what to do. While the interview was certainly interesting, the ratings didnt pan out for GMA. And, interestingly, this interview came around the same time that Kelly was in contract discussions with other networks including ABC.
Kelly was eager to take the peacock network offer because it allowed more time to spend with her three young children. However, some have been skeptical about Kellys ability to maintain a daytime audience, citing the failure of both Katie Couric and Anderson Cooper to do so. She is reportedly slated to take over the third hour of Today with her new show. And according to two sources at different networks the downturn in ratings that morning did not go unnoticed. With that said, ratings from one morning would not, in and of itself, have changed the competition for the uber-talented Kelly. But with a move that has been called risky and bold, any indicators must have been carefully scrutinized.
Doomed.
Just watch.
Tick...tick...tick....
It has happened many times.
who in the world thought this was a good idea? she will be gone in 6 months from that timeslot...lolz
She even turned down a handsome $100 million package from Fox News
I’d like to see that offer in writing, not some blurb from her publicist.
She even turned down a handsome $100 million package from Fox News
Why is it that Most Presstitutes/Writers can not get past the first Sentence without telling A LIE???
THERE WAS NO OFFER FROM FOX. SHE WAS OUT!
>> She even turned down a handsome $100 million package from Fox News to go to the peacock network <<
Wait... Fox was willing to pay her $100 million to go to the peacock network?
These arrogant news people think they are so needed! Megyn lied against Trump and exposed herself as just another democrat political hack posing as a news person.
There is no news .
Besides with the Internet and Google we can finally get real news not what the propagandists in the media want us to believe is the news. It amazes me there are still so many dumb idiots that watch these news shows : must be all democrats who voted for Hillary. They are really dumb brainwashed idiots these democrat voters.
LOL@ Me, me, me Kelly.
Her ratings have consistently dropped since she demonstrated her open animosity for Trump. NBC way overpaid. Too bad Megyn is not terribly bright. Otherwise they could have set her up with a point counterpoint show on MSNBC with Rachel Maddow. However Megyn would not be able to hold her end and it would be lousy television.
Sooner or later, the suits at the top of all the networks, cable or broadcast, will figure out that what we, their viewers, want is just plain old news with truth and no bias, no personality and no celebrity. The BBC has ‘newsreaders’ and they don’t cost much...............
poor Me-Again is gonna end up with a prime afternoon legal slot next to Al Sharpton on Mess-NBC
I’ve posted this a few times: She’s following the, ‘Katie Couric How-To-Trash-Your Career Playbook’ to the letter!
*SMIRK*
And another thing: it’s fine for female Talking Heads to sleep their way to the top, but when they get there and the Top Boss wants some, it’s time to file a lawsuit?
Yeah. Whatever. *Rolleyes*
“uber talented”
Fawn much?
Note that she was not hosting any of Fox’s New Years coverage. An outsider already.
So NBC thinks she has appeal to the progressive crowd?
Risky business.
just like a pro athlete, get the big contract settlement money and then ‘retire’/write books and raise the kids...
This might be The Katie Couric Update Story, Part VI, as played by Megyn Kelly.
to see how that worked out.
As you state....I give her 6 months maybe a year. I don't think whatever it is that she had a FNC transfers to NBC
ABC was lucky to have had a warning that she would be a ratings disaster. NBC should have done more research. Fortunately for Fox News, it didn’t.
