New United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres spoke with U.S. President-elect Donald Trump on Wednesday, and the two had "a very positive discussion on U.S./U.N. relations," said a U.N. spokesman, a week after Trump slammed the world body on Twitter.

I think everyone in the world (except the MSM and Ds and Lindsey and McCain) by now understands that “being Slammed by Trump” is one way he opens a negotiation. People who think it takes 1000s of pages to create a “good health insurance law” will never understand the power of a tweet done well by someone with the skills, experience, and planning to follow it up with action.
It may not be traditional diplomacy or even good diplomacy. But they know that he can turn on a dime and say “This is a great person, and we’re doing great things together”. And the more success and support he achieves, the more other leaders will want his “approval” and be eager to turn around his “slams”.
And all without weeks or months of subordinates preparing discussions and frameworks for the meeting then negotiation. He’s most likely prepared for weeks/months but they want/need to react quick before another slam and without the normal prep work - advantage Trump, let the negotiation begin.
The UN is not a country. We do not need "relations" with it.
If not for our tax dollars it would immediately cease to exist.
We subsidize their hatred.

Exactly, we sure in hell don’t need any relations with an organization that not only routinely votes against the U.S. but attempts to undermine and comprise the U.S. any opportunity it gets.
But we don’t know what was said, what did Trump tell the UN secretary.
I hope Trump discussed tearing down UN headquarters and having Don Jr., Erik, and Ivanka re-develop the site with office buildings, hotels and high-rise luxury condos.

True, but it is prime Manhattan real estate after all.
At least expensive condos and hotels aren’t plotting to establish a tyrannical one-world government, which is more than I can say for the likes of those UN cretins.
