Now they’re sure Chuck can delay for 2 years, and they’ll win back the senate. Of course they were also sure HRC would win, and the rats would control congress by now.
Reminder:
As many have pointed out, there is no nuke option for SCOTUS without a rule change that Reid never did.
But the real issue is value. SCOTUS justices have a habit of changing their stripes once on the court. Does it make sense to destroy the filibuster when you can’t be sure you get anyting of value in return?
For the past several months, the SCOTUSblog website ran a daily calendar of the number of days that the Senate had not acted on the Merrick Garland nomination. It will be interesting to see if they run a count on the number of days that the Senate democrat minority filibusters a Trump nomination.
I for one will be making comments to that effect on their site if they do not do so. Sauce for the gander.
