Trump’s team to PA: ‘There is no Palestine, Jerusalem is not your capital’

Trump’s team is reportedly in contact with the Palestinians but has set a new tone regarding negotiations with Israel.

President-elect Donald Trump’s transitional team has recently been in contact with the Palestinians on how to proceed with diplomatic negotiations.

Israel Radio, in a report on Tuesday, quoted sources within Trump’s team and among Palestinian Authority officials who affirmed that the contacts were taking place.

In the report, an unnamed “senior official” working for Trump is said to have asked a senior Palestinian official why they would object to moving the US embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to western Jerusalem.

The official replied that there should be a parallel move, that Washington should establish a US embassy for “Palestine” in eastern Jerusalem and one for Israel in the west side of the city.

The Palestinians envision the eastern side of Israel’s capital as its own. Moving the embassy to Jerusalem would be the final death blow to the failed peace negotiations, the Palestinians have threatened.

The Trump official reported replied that “there is no Palestine, and Jerusalem is not your capital. If you stop the incitement to terror, put in place full economic transparency, stop acting unilaterally at UN bodies and accept a US embassy in west Jerusalem, we (the US) would consider a US diplomatic mission in Ramallah and call upon the Israelis to enter into serious negotiations with you on a long-term relationship.”

The Ramallah promise is not good. NO recognition should be given to any Arab territorial claims upon the Holy Land

The Saudis (and OPEC) are trying to spike the price already. Unfortunately it seems to have failed.

Jericho is Israeli as well. The capital of the Palestians is Amman.

It is too bad that they behaved so badly they got tossed out but that does not give them the right to try to take someone else's county.

"The capital of the Palestians is Amman."

No matter how much land Israel gives up, it is never enough, and almost everyone forgets.

Agreed. How refreshing to read this and reread it. Finally, someone who speaks the simple truth...and everyone knows it. I can’t wait for this to happen. The world is going to go nuts, but they’ll calm down.

Perhaps they could pick something a little further east, on the other side of the Jordan River, say 100 miles. That would be far enough, or at least a good start.

or a Sirhan Sirhan wannabe

Sirhan was raised as a Christian. There is no evidence he worshiped the Moon God of Mecca.

I think President Trump (I know its early but he already is acting like it and so is the world) stated in the campaign that the israeli palis thing wasn't something he was particularly interested in getting involved. I believe he based it on the fact that since the 70's administrations have attempted this and its a big waste of time.

Nothing like saying "go away - your not important - you get NOTHING" and then gelding the UN the one thing you had.

It strikes me that Palestinians have very stupid leadership - one would think the wicked would be more cunning - classic case of over reach by Oldbama.

Also it might be fun to say to the 205 countries voting for the anti-semetic resolution that they will now be responsible for handling their allotment of Palestinians.

They can decide if they want a little piece of prosperous land if they decide to become friends with the Israels or be scattered in their own UN caused Diaspora.

Anyhow Trump saying he has other things to worry about is probably that quickest way to get them to be more flexible.

Recently last week? A very liberal civil rights attonery - retired and I were talking at the bar as we do on Wednesday - he a nice guy but like many in Malibu not a Trump Fan, worried he gonna take his weed. I told him he is worried about the wrong grass because if you like your gardner you can't keep him.

He is a jew not religous but its a very important part of his life and he said Obama went and did that (UN resolution) and proved correct all the things those right wing crazys said were true. He went on to say there is no solution and yeah he was very dishearted by it all.

The Jews here are convinced Trump is antisemite, but Jews here are progressives first Jews second - its really starting to cause conflict with them as Trump actually is one of the biggest friends they will ever have in the whitehouse.

I doubt I'll ever get any of them to admit it but I believe they are warming up to DJT. If he runs again I think he gonna do much better with them.

Perhaps there is an opportunity here to help free another group from the democratic plantation by exploited the deep feelings of Betrayal the true believers have.

I've been telling them to get over themselves and re-examine their belief systems that have acquired dust since they formed them in the 60's and 70's - things have changed you liberals are locked in the past - its not enough to care - programs yield results or they get chopped no more stealing from the citizens to create make work jobs for democrat voters.

This Administration and others do not have treat as sacrosanct programs and departments created by the democrats.

Its conversion time
