During a contentious exchange on Fox News tonight, host Tucker Carlson took on a University of Chicago senior Jake Bittle, who had taken to Facebook to say RNC spokesman Sean Spicer shouldn’t be allowed to speak at the university. As one would expect, Tucker took exception with Bittle’s calls for Spicer to not be allowed to speak, noting that it seems to fly in the face of freedom of speech. Bittle, who is the school paper’s editor, argued that Spicer is just a spin doctor and wouldn’t answer his questions anyway. After some back and forth on that issue, Carlson brought up something Bittle wrote in his paper: Now, we are faced with a real crisis with the election of term. We must take real action, the Ivy League translation of the vulgar give Trump a chance. Real action, human, donating money to the ACLU, to Standing Rock, Planned Parenthood, call your representatives, protest, flipping cars when trump walks away from the Paris Climate Agreement, attacking racists, attacking people in the supermarket, whatever it takes. “I have a bunch of questions,” Carlson stated. “The first is, whose cars are you going to flip?” The Fox News host would also go on to ridicule Bittle over what he figured was his lack of knowledge over what he was talking about, specifically the

Alas, this is similar to a debate I’ve had about the popular vote. I tried to point out that we are a Republic, not a Democracy, and that popularity doesn’t win the day. That’s why the House is based on population, but the Senate on equal participation. Today, I sent the person an extremely well thought out discussion of the popular vote/electoral college debate, pointing out that if you net out the CA vote for both candidates, Trump wins the popular vote, too. Her response: Don’t send me any more emails like this where “like this” means those based in fact, rather than emotion. That’s where this Snowflake gets thumped in the video: Carlson has the factual high ground.

Fortunately, the President of the University of Chicago has been a resolute proponent of free speech at that university and a vocal critic of “trigger warnings” and “safe spaces.” Too bad his message didn’t take by some students and faculty.

I wanted so badly to ask this spoiled brat; Son, what does your Mother and Father do for a living? Have you ever got so mad that you and your friends turned over your Parents cars? What will you do if the owners of the cars fight back?
