Migrants in U.S., Mexico fret about Trump threat to halt remittances
Reuters ^ | Jan 2, 2017 | Michael O'Boyle

In central Mexico’s Mezquital Valley, new pick-up trucks bounce along unpaved roads and U.S.-style houses are springing up alongside cornfields. But people are afraid that remittances from family members abroad, a primary source of funding for such purchases, may soon dry up.

During the holiday season, even as money and gifts have flowed into the area from relatives working in the United States, residents have fretted about what a Trump presidency will mean for them and family members working in the United States.

During his presidential campaign, Donald Trump said he would stop allowing wire transfers of money out of the United States from Mexican nationals unless Mexico agreed to fund a border wall. Migrants in the United States are expected to have sent a record $27 billion in remittances into Mexico in 2016, according to BBVA Bancomer, an increase of more than $2 billion over 2015.

My neighborhood is the home of 16 Mexicans in a 2 bedroom house where they play loud music (lots of accordions) from about noon to 4 AM.

Doesn't take Sherlock Holmes to figure it out.

Our sheriff's deputies roll up on construction sites and arrest everyone who runs away.

A friend of mine who owns a check-cashing business told me his computer system caught six Mexicans all using the same North Carolina diver license...all six resembled the license photo.
the computer noticed it was the same license number for all 6 of them.

Instead of the Mexicans smuggling in drugs, they will be smuggling OUT money. Nothing would/will surprise me, NOTHING.

Nah, divert any remittance to the “Build the Wall” fund. (Mexico will pay for it).

They all leave a paper trail. Clinton's trail in Central America is huge.

TIME TO MOBILIZE THE WAY BACK MACHINE---all aspects of Bill Clinton's presidency and his foreign aid proclivities must be explored. Massive amounts of Clinton foreign aid to Colombia my have paved the way for Clinton Foundation buck-raking. News outlets reported: Clinton Foundation charity setup a money-making private equity fund in the corrupt Central American country of Colombia.

Why Colombia?

WIKI REFERENCE---In 2000, the Clinton administration committed $1.3 billion in foreign aid to the corrupt country of Colombia...... and up to five hundred military personnel to train local forces. An additional three hundred civilian personnel were allowed to assist in the eradication of coca.

The Clinton deal was an addition to $330 million of previously approved US aid to Colombia. $818 million was earmarked for 2000, with $256 million for 2001.

The Clinton-era appropriations for his Colombia Plan made Colombia the third largest recipient of foreign aid from the United States at the time.

--SNIP--

As of 2008, the U.S. has provided nearly $1.3 billion to Colombia through Clinton Plan Colombia nonmilitary aid programs:

<><> Alternative Development (2000-2008 cost: $500 million)

<><> Internally Displaced Persons (2000-2008 cost: $247 million)

<><> Demobilization and Reintegration (2000-2008 cost: $44 million)

<><> Democracy and Human Rights (2000-2008 cost: $158 million)

<><> Promote the Rule of Law (2000-2008 cost: $238 million)

LONG READ--REST AT https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Plan_Colombia

==============================

04/16/2008----Former President Bill Clinton has earned hundreds of thousands of dollars speaking on behalf of a Colombia-based group pushing the trade pact, and representatives of that organization tell The Huffington Post that the former president shared their sentiment.

In June 2005, Clinton was paid $800,000 by the Colombia-based Gold Service International to give four speeches throughout Latin America. The organization is, ostensibly, a development group tasked with bringing investment to the country and educating world leaders about the Colombia’s business opportunities.

The group’s chief operating officer, Andres Franco, said in an interview that the group supports the congressional ratification of the free trade agreement and that, when Clinton was on his speaking tour, he expressed similar opinions. “He was supportive of the trade agreement at the time that he came, but that was several years ago.

In the present context, I don’t know what his position would be. It is not only about union trade rights. It is about what benefit or damage it can do to the US economy,” said Franco. “Events with the Clinton campaign [concerning Mark Penn] are not good at all for the trade agreement... Right now it became a campaign issues and that is sad, because it needs to go through.”

The comments were supported by a June 23, 2005 article from the news portal Terra (uncovered by Ben Smith at Politico) in which Clinton offered unambiguous support for the free trade agreement with Colombia.

They appear to be the first public indication that Clinton has, at least in the past, supported the trade deal. But evidence that the former president has been sympathetic to Colombia’s position is widely known. In 2007, Clinton met personally with and accepted an award from Colombia’s controversial president, Alvaro Uribe, during a time when the country was attempting to improve its image within the United States.

Subsequently, Clinton urged Congress to view the country in a more favorable light.

Moreover, Clinton has helped Frank Giustra, one of the biggest donors to the Clinton Global Initiative, score meetings with high-ranking Colombian officials. Giustra has several business interests in the country, and both he and Clinton have collaborated on an effort to (cough) "fight poverty in developing world by partnering up with mining companies in Colombia and elsewhere." UT OH---Obama/s now requesting billions for Colombia---to (cough) curb the drug trade.

A source close to Pres-elect Trump's transition team indicated plans to pressure its yet unnamed US ambassadors to suggest foreign governments probe its Clinton Foundation financial dealings.

“Haiti and Colombia will be key diplomatic posts because of all the money involved,” said the source.

-=============================================

Recently leaked e-mails marked FOB “Friends of Bill”, indicate Clinton insiders may have been given priority from the State Department as it prepared to spend some $10 billion in aid after a 2010 devastating earthquake in Haiti. The State Dept denied any special treatment.

Canadian mining magnate Frank Giustra (he facilitated the sale of US uranium deposits), pledged $100 million to the Clinton Foundation in 2005 and later benefited from the foundation’s philanthropic work in Columbia where Giustra acquired large parcels of land and set up an oil business, according to watchdog groups. (hat tip NY POST)

My basic rule of thumb for the “standard rate” carve out that gets kicked back to the xlintonisa regime foundation is 10%.

using that assumption, if guistra was paying 10% vig that amounted to $100,000,000 then he was probably given a deal worth at least $1 Billion.

It will be fascinating to see what shakes outta the foundation from their graft in haiti & colombia.

Stay tuned. 18 days & counting

THE BEGINNING OF THE END

Reuters reports......In a wide-ranging request for documents and analysis, President-elect Donald Trump’s transition team asked about DHS’ capacity for expanding immigrant detention and about an aerial surveillance program that was scaled back by the Obama admin but remains popular with immigration hardliners.....and whether federal workers have altered biographic information kept by the department about immigrants out of concern for their civil liberties.

The requests were made in a Dec. 5 meeting between Trump’s transition team and Department of Homeland Security officials, according to an internal agency memo reviewed by Reuters. The document offers a glimpse into the president-elect’s strategy for securing the U.S. borders and reversing polices put in place by the Obama administration.

snip

The Trump transition team also asked for copies of every executive order and directive sent to immigration agents since Obama took office in 2009, according to the memo summarizing the meeting.

Trump has said he intends to undo Obama’s executive actions on immigration, including a 2012 order to allow children brought to the U.S. illegally by their parents to remain in the country on temporary authorizations that allow them to attend college and work.

The program, known as DACA, collected information including participants’ addresses that could theoretically be used to locate and deport them if the policy is reversed. Another request of the transition team was for information about whether any migrant records have been changed for any reason, including for civil rights or civil liberties concerns, according to the internal memo seen by Reuters.

A Department of Homeland Security official, speaking on condition of anonymity, said the agency interpreted the request to mean the transition team wanted to make sure that federal workers were not tampering with information to protect DACA recipients and other migrants from deportation.

The internal memo summarizing the meeting between Trump’s transition team and U.S. Customs and Border protection said the team had requested a comprehensive picture of border security as well as resources available for walls and barriers.

If Rooters is expecting this article to gin up sympathy for Mexicans and opposition to Trump’s proposal to tax remittances, they’re seriously deluded.

New US style houses and brand new trucks bouncing along in Mexico? With over 90 million US citizens are unemployed, record dependence upon welfare, EBT and social services, despondency in wide swathes of rural America?

They’ve got a very tin ear.

Contact President-Elect Trump's web site. www.greatagain.gov.

WE can beat this invasion if we are empowered. Trump needs to authorize:

<><> a National Neighborhood Watch system, to support ICE/DHS having a dedicated hotline; to be accessed by local AMERICAN eyes and ears to submit information and observations as to presence and activities of illegal aliens.

<><> Along with info on employers that illegally employ them. And so on.

Millions of realtime observations, collated thru a vast netork of civilian volunteers in call centers, getting ICE the information they need.

US citizens submitting information that is actually taken seriously and acted upon.
