Russians breach Vermont utility
The Hill ^ | December 30, 2016 | By Evelyn Rupert

Russian hackers tied to recent cyberattacks on U.S. political organizations breached a Vermont utility, the Washington Post reported Friday.

A code associated with the Russian hacking operation aimed at the U.S. presidential election, which the intelligence community has named “Grizzly Steppe,” was detected within the Vermont system.

The Russians did not disrupt electrical operations, officials told the Post.

According to the Burlington Free Press, the city-owned Burlington Electric was the target of the hack.

Vermont Public Service Commissioner Christopher Recchia said malware was discovered on a laptop that was not connected to the grid's operations.

"The grid is not in danger," Recchia said. "The utility flagged it, saw it, notified appropriate parties and isolated that one laptop with that malware on it. . ."

Wait til they hack the WiFi at Bernie’s new lake house, his Tweets will start making sense.

Another possibility. Since Drudge has been getting hit with unprecedented denial of service attacks. The Oligarchy attacks various US sites or facilities with serious hacking attacks. These attacks cause major difficulties and even make some sections of the internet go down. Many new media sites unavailable. Now they have the cover to control all information again via cable and sat MSM. That gives them free reign to blame the Russians.

A code associated with the Russian hacking operation aimed at the U.S. presidential election

Can anyone from the Washington Pist or The Hill explain how that is done?

Just what exactly gets aimed at? The whole election? Or what part? The speeches, the schedule, the debates, what? How can hacking MAKE an eligible voter vote against his/her will? How can hacking cause a candidate to make a mistake, fail to visit a state, say something that pisses people off, like call them deplorable?

Seriously, the whole statement makes no sense.

“A code” ...

Forever forward “A code” which is generic in nature and no way indicates it is from Russia based on the code itself, will be blamed on Russia.

How do you refute it?

These reports are not designed to make sense to people like you or me. They are designed to alter the feelings of the left and the half wits. Obama has decimated the Democratic Party. The donkey is dieing. Bernie supporters are mad they were played and robbed. Hillary supporters are in a state of shock. General Moore is trying to assemble the troops, but even that oligarchy tool is having trouble. So they are targeting their leftist supporters to rally by manipulating their feelings with daily doses of Russian Hacker hate. And of course the occasional Jew bashing.

Washington Post has a long history of printing whatever disinformation the CIA gives them. I read that the current owner’s business has a tech contract with the CIA worth millions to his business.

“Grizzly Steppe,” could have been salted from anyone, anywhere.

Prove their ingress/egress, the devices used, IP adresses to their most terminus point, etc.

This story is Bull Shit.

"They were sending thousands of mails, anywhere they can find an email address. These guys were looking to make mass money."

I think you are right. The article makes it sound like this one utility was specifically targeted, but the actuality is probably much more like what you describe.

Yes, go read their FBI profiles, it is on the FBI website for anyone to read.

They have a clear MO.

"Heck got hacked by russians myself about 8 years ago."

A couple of years ago my son was hacked (or whatever the term would be), and his bank said the suspects were believed to be in Russia or Eastern Europe. They were not believed to be government agents, but common thieves.

"Russians breach Vermont utility"

On any given day, I imagine there are hundreds or even thousands of computer-related security breaches around the world, generated by malware or spyware emanating from any number of sources. Would this breach at the utility necessarily be any more significant than all those others? And do you know how they link it to the alleged DNC hack?

The Russian Government has no control over Russian Mobsters. About one week after their last heavy hack, read about a ring of Russian hackers getting busted in Denver. So I did a little research and connected the company trying to post a $5,000 check to one of the Denver front companies the Russian Ring had setup. Think the hackers were back in the Slovakia region, but the ring that actually used the stolen info was in Denver. They used a bunch of Russian students here in the states to do the front work.

I’ll go one further. I’m completely sure it’s a bunch of lies.

And we will read a lot more about this (and others) until and after the 20th and McCain will scream and yell and rant so much he just might drop at the podium for good.

This may end up being a good thing after all.

NO ONE I know wants to go to war with Russia.

Even Trump hating idiots in Manhattan.

All of a sudden they are so anti Russian and blame them for the snow we had last week.

But NONE want an escalation.

And the less dumb ones know everybody is hacking everybody somewhere.

Believe nothing the Obama administration says. If an EMP were to occur, I’d believe it was Obama, before I’d believe it was the Russians. I put NOTHING past Obama. NOTHING!
