It started out like any other Uber transaction.
Keith Avila, a photographer who also drives for the ridesharing company, picked up two women and a girl at a home in Sacramento, California. As they got into the car, Avila noticed the girl looked young. *snip*
“I was 100 percent sure I knew what was happening,” Avila tells PEOPLE. “It wasn’t 99.999 percent. It was 100 percent. And I knew I had to do something, but I didn’t know exactly how I was going to do it. I wondered if I should take pictures with my phone.”

If this is true they must be taking the tip from Canada. The age of consent is only 14 and prostitution is legal. At least, for the girl.
However, I may be wrong on the legal subtleties. I apologize in advance if so.
How did that poor girl get mixed up with those losers? She needs our prayers.
No, it’s not legal. It’s still a crime for the adults involved. They just won’t charge the minor as a criminal. Since they can’t give consent legally, they can’t be the person responsible, even if they agree. That makes it easier for them to testify against the pimps and johns without worrying about being charged. Otherwise the smartest thing for them to do is lawyer up and get out on bail or OR.

That’s when the driver knows what’s going on and does nothing to stop it. In this case he didn’t know until the ride had started, and he called police immediately once it was safe to do so. No reasonable person could call him a conspirator.
I was OK with that movie until the closing scenes, when all I could say was Holy S**t repeatedly as DeNiro used up his armament. Poor Harvey Keitel got his - twice.

Well at least a John. It’s not clear if he was also a pedophile. Looks like an unattractive 20 year old guy. Could be he just wanted to get laid without spending the time building a relationship and all. Doubt he is going to get many casual offers. But if the 16 year old girl looked younger maybe he was after a younger looking girl.
I respect what this guy did, but I am concerned for his safety.
These days you just don’t know who his next ride will be, or who will be looking him up to discourage others from doing the right thing.
To be honest, I wish I weren’t reading about this.
