My Rabbi neighbor and his wife are some of the biggest pro-Obama lefties I have ever met in my entire life (and once upon a time I was a DC attorney living in communist controlled Northern Virginia).
Tell me it isn’t burned into them. Hard wired.
And these are (not knowing anything whatsoever about them) people who could *possibly* tell you that something about the name “Judea” continuously used for 3000+ years could conceivably have something to do with “Jews” who are now considered occupiers of same. Oh, and that would be 2000 years before the Koran was even dreamed up and puked out.
At the risk of offending them or becoming their mortal enemy, perhaps it would gain you some insight (and I don’t mean that condescendingly) if you could get them to expound. OTOH, there ain’t much to learn in these situations.
But WHAT IS IT that makes them support such virulent anti-Semitism and embrace their would be murderers?
