There's something very wrong with consulting to write the proposal then abstaining. Our foreign policy has been about disruption and chaos for a very long time. Perhaps the last sensible policy was Ike's DMZ in Korea, averting war and enabling South Korea to become an excellent ally.
(I'm not convinced as history has unfolded that a united Germany is a good thing, so I didn't add in Reagan's "tear down the wall")
I thought they had nothing to do with the proposal but did ask for review rights before deciding on how to vote.
I presume Kerry’s stridency is that he has figured out that this will be the defining action of his term as Secretary of State. John al Vietnami will go down history as the guy who sold out Israel.
