This may turn out to be good in the long run. If it’s enough to discredit the UN, that may do as much good in the long run as Obama discrediting liberalism has done for American politics. There will still be costs, but they may be worth bearing. Erase the UN, sell the building off as condos, and who cares what their last comments yapping about Israel may have been?

The real Obama legacy is that he made anti Zionism “respectable” and gave it a home in the Democratic Party. People such as Ken Ellison are credible candidates to lead the Democrats. Sadly Netanyahu and all Israelis must come to the realization that the widespread support that Israel in the immediate post Holocaust era no longer exists in the West.

White House aide Ben Rhodes calls the charges "falsehoods."

It's important to keep in mind that White House aide Ben Rhodes is the one who sneeringly congratulated himself in a New York Times Magazine interview for successfully deceiving the Congress, the American people in general, and the pliant fools in the news media about the ugly reality of the nuclear deals that Obama was making with the enemy Iranian mullahs.

Also keep in mind that his brother, David Rhodes, is President of CBS News. The deceit emanating from the Obama regime has deeply-planted roots.

So, now that we know beyond any question of a doubt that White House aide Ben Rhodes has earned his reputation for being a serial liar who will tell any falsehood in order to advance the dangerous goals of the Obama regime, it's laughable for him to claim that Netanyahu's statements are 'falsehoods'. White House aide Ben Rhodes has forfeited any claim to credibility on any subject whatsoever.

Pat is not exactly an Israel-First type - so this resolution must have really sucked.

Notice Buchanan just states history and facts and makes NO Judgement on the rightness or wrongness of the action

The USA didn’t become really involved and allied with Israel until the Yom Kippur War when Nixon helped save them with emergency supplies

The Arab threatened Oil Boycott ended Frances’s aid to Israel and it has been the USA ever since

It’s the first time that I’ve not seen Buchanan criticize Israel.

Everything about a 2 state solution makes sense, until you see that the global far left is for it. The goal of the Arabs is to wipe out Israel. Israel needs this land for it’s long term survival.

I assume this must be a joke:

Republicans are moving to exploit the opening by denouncing the resolution and the U.N. and showing solidarity with Israel. Goal: Replace the Democratic Party as the most reliable ally of Israel, and reap the rewards of an historic transfer of Jewish political allegiance.

What "rewards" is he talking about? LOL.

One big problem in the Middle East is that the place is filled with a bunch of countries that aren’t even viable nations by any objective measure. They basically function as permanent wards of the world’s developed nations.

Everything about a 2 state solution makes sense, until you see that the global far left is for it.

The funny thing is that I was thinking of this from the exact opposite perspective.

Seeing a pathetic RINO like Lindsey Graham stand up as the most vocal critic of the Obama administration on this issue doesn't give any credibility to the argument that Obama was wrong on this.

This may turn out to be good in the long run. If it’s enough to discredit the UN, that may do as much good in the long run as Obama discrediting liberalism has done for American politics

I hope your right in that assessment.

Another plus is it complicates a two state solution which I thought was a bad idea.

On FR many years ago I said I gave up on the naive dumb Israeli Jews who acted as though they could actually talk their way into a peaceful solution with Muslims.
These dumb Jews didn't seem to understand the fundamentals of Islam.
Especially when Allah and Muhammad singled them out from the rest of us Kafirs, in the Koran and Hadiths.

Hopefully Pres. Trump won't let this crisis go to waste and we and Israel can benefit from it, to the detriment of the fundamental Muslims. - Tom

(fundamental Muslims to me, are the Muslims who follow the religion the way Allah and Muhammad want it done, and not the way the Muslim heretics operate by collaborating with us Infidels and taking a pick and choose approach to Islam.)

He got that right.

The only peaceful solution between Islam and freedom will be when violent Muslims rest in peace. I see no need to comment on what fraction of the Islamic population that may affect.
