I would ask why he keeps licking his lips, but he has no lips.
It's very distracting. It's like he's a lizard or snake with a restless tongue sticking out for no reason, in between words.
Or like Keith Ledger as the Penguin in the Batman movie -- a quirk that suggests a sinister, neurotically perverse character.
