WASHINGTON — Security surrounding the inauguration of Donald J. Trump is proving to be the most challenging in recent history, according to senior officials involved in its planning, largely because of the same forces of political rancor that shaped the race for the presidency.
On top of the daunting threats to any inaugural ceremony, the three dozen agencies responsible for security at the Jan. 20 festivities are preparing for the possibility of large numbers of protesters flooding the capital, along with what may be nearly a million supporters of Mr. Trump.
The agencies are worried about the possibility of confrontations between groups of Americans still deeply divided over the election — and at a moment when millions of people around the world will be turning their attention to Washington. At the very least, officials said, protests would put additional pressure on the region’s already-stretched security apparatus.
“To paraphrase Tolstoy: Each inauguration is risky, but each is risky in its own way,” said Michael Chertoff, who was secretary of homeland security under President George W. Bush and oversaw the department for President Obama’s first inauguration, in 2009.

I recommend the liberal use of nightsticks and handcuffs for this problem, and every other such occurence, until peace is achieved.

This might be the one chance the Liberal Progressives have to show Trump as an Unpopular, failed president and provoke him to do something they can use on the news. That and start impeachment. He will be too smart for them. They will pay their goons to come from all over the nation to heckle, riot, punch, and burn—to keep alive the Never Trump Movement. If they fail—and they will— it will be the end of the DNC—they will be forced to turn from Socialism and back to their union roots. Its going to be a wild time—I bet 20 or 30 people will die in the violence that burns much of the Capital. I would not be surprised if a sniper takes a shot at Trump as well. This is their last roll of the dice. Its desperation time for the left. IF Trump can get the economy going, reform health care and build a wall, he may cement the GOP in power for a dozen years. The first female president will be named Ivanka, and following her Eric Trump (after his reform term as Governor of New York).
Not one mention in the article about the groups who have threatened to “shut down” both the inauguration and DC itself; they are simply described as “protesters,” and the sense given is that the pro-Trump people are as much a threat as the protesters.
