That’s odd. At my time of separation from the Army, we were told that we should file our original DD214 at our county courthouse as soon as we could. I’ve had numerous copies made since then and usually have a few at home for my convenience should I need one in a hurry.
The oversight that should be rectified is the acceptance of CA licenses as valid IDs, or that they are not on the list of invalid IDs like Maine and Michigan.

So what’s on a Real ID? Your full legal name, birth date, gender, address, signature, a license or ID number, digital photograph, security features and machine-readable technology, like a barcode.
The state’s that are on the list do not contain all of the above information. Some do not have barcodes, some are paper like, etc. They just want all the states to have specific information, which shouldn’t be a big deal at this point in time.
A gov’t ID with a photo is required to go through the A/P. If you showed your BC and the DL you have now (after the law goes into effect at the A/P), it should work fine. But, the ID you have now will not work solo at the airport after this rule goes into effect. They need the below information:
Your full legal name, birth date, gender, address, signature, a license or ID number, digital photograph, security features and machine-readable technology, like a barcode.
They are not concerned with your citizenship. They are trying to get an authentic Identification to see if you are on any lists. That is why your name on your boarding pass has to match your government ID without any spelling errors.
This is about YOUR Driver’s License/ID which needs to meet specifications.

American citizenship used to be a priceless jewel, to be protected and cherished.
Like every other previously noble institution, the Left has thoroughly soiled the meaning and value of American citizenship.
Someone advised me to have my DD214's recorded at the county seat. I did and I am glad I did. They used to do it free now there is a big fee where I live.
You may be, especially a VA Loan. How old are you and do you have hearing problems, did you serve in Vietnam?
