While the TU 154 was an attempt to “emulate” the iconic Boeing 727, it was a piece of crap by comparison. I have been told that it doesn’t have hydraulic servos on the controls, so it’s a brute force aircraft. And you’re right 6,000 hours is a very, very low-time A/C.
