“My point, I guess, is that it’s going to take a lot to change what’s going on at the VA because there are too many people on the payroll that just don’t give a damn.”

Some do not give a damn.

Some of the VA facilities are good. But, I know some which are not, I’ve a friend who’s a Vietnam vet in Kentucky. He honestly thought they wanted him to die so they wouldn’t have to address his heart issues. It’s a good thing he was on his wife’s insurance, the surgery he had saved his life.

I live not far from a good VA facility. I had service related injuries which were compounded by playing college football - neck and spine. Just to get a look see would take 8 weeks at the VA. I went private, and got a exam in 10 days. Turns out I needed to have a fusion in my neck, and had surgery within 7-10 days.

I just posted this thread.

I was looking for an old article that showed the highest paid federal employee in my state (Alabama) is head of the VA in Birmingham, AL. The guy was born and educated in India. I don’t believe that he cares about American veterans like most of us. From what I recall, he’s making about $350K per year.
