Other hopefuls: unabridged Count of Monte Cristo, Our Mutual Friend, Gravity’s Rainbow, and the Gormenghast Trilogy. I’m all over the place, but like really thick and layered works.

“Gravity’s Rainbow” is one of those books that is the equivalent of much of modern art. Highly praised by the cultured set, and Im convinced most of them never actually red it. After slogging thru about 100 pages I gave up. It was like William Faulkner on meth, and not in a good way.

Ayn Rand ought to be required reading for all college students.

100 pages? I didn’t get that far, but will try again someday. One of my Everests.

I’ll take the Objectivist philosophy of Rand as the new administration’s guide over the current administration whose guiding force is the Marxist philosophy of Alinsky.

I’ll give any book 100 pages to hook me. I figure if I’m not into by then, I’m just suffering thru it, and there are too many good books out there to have to suffer through one I don’t like.

One book that worked out following that rule few years back was “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo”. I was about 70 pages in before the story began to really take off. After that I read all three books in the “Millennium” Series.

I'd rather take a competent thinker like Aristotle or Thomas Aquinas over nutcases like Rand and Marx.

Ignorance is not bliss. Try actually reading her work sometime.

Ragnar Redbeard was a proponent of ‘Might Makes Right’ which is the exact OPPOSITE of Ayn Rand’s thesis, i.e., ‘Right Makes Might’.

Donald Trump for years stood back and bowed to others who ascended to the presidency. He was hopeful that the Commander-in-Chief of the United States would have a clear picture of events and developments and proceed to make the RIGHT executive decisions.

Eric Trump said his father could no longer stay in the background with his incredible luxurious life when he saw the Iran Deal pushed through where Iran would benefit $150,000,000,000 to buy all the nukes they wanted.

The Iran Deal coupled with massive unvetted muslim immigration was more than Donald could stand.

Why would you associate Ragnar Redbeard with Donald Trump via Ayn Rand when Donald Trump has risked his life to be America’s President? The man had to wear a bullet-proof vest and take untold amounts of abuse, spending his own money for love of country.

Your comment reveals you’re programmed to twist any context against Donald Trump. I suggest you take a solitude break of many many months and reflect on just who you are because it is clear the TRUTH is not in you.

Donald Trump does not subscribe to ‘Might Makes Right’. He subscibes to ‘Right Makes Might’.

Dear FRriends,

I notice not everyone is in tune with Rand.

May I suggest, if you don't have time to read ATLAS or FOUNTAINHEAD,

this little cinematic treat?

It's really boring and stupid.

I respectfully suggest that you go back and reread it.

GREAT ARTICLE!! Thanks for posting. This is what I thought Trump would be and why I supported him so hard. I really liked and like how he’s proud of his wealth and refuses to apologize for it.

...Because Rand was the foremost advocate of capitalism, and who did so with power, clarity and her experiences living in Russia. You might read Atlas rather than resorting to inane name calling.

I read Atlas Shrugged, and while it wasn’t a real interesting read, it was scary how much she understood about economics, and how prescient she was about the situation we found ourselves in under Zero.
