They are Progressives. They believe that humanity and everything else is a cosmic mistake caused by randomness creating order. They believe that you can create a “Better Human” through laws and selective handouts. They believe that people will be productive when there is no reason to produce.

Maryland had a referendum question on this... I think it passed. It isn’t in effect until more states agree. But if it were in effect 2020, I will enjoy President Trump’s overwhelming popular vote victory.. and Maryland’s demo-rat electors have to cast their votes for him!
Convention of states necessary. Don’t have the votes... .even if. Right?
But this is what happens when a liberal FedGov lets states violate stuff like immigration jurisdiction , allowing ‘ sanctuary cities’: precedent.
