And this “legislation” will have the lifespan of a snowflake in Hell once the Courts, state and Federal, get hold of it.

without the electoral college, everyone that’s not in Cali/NY will have taxation without representation. Last time that happened, the largest military in the world got their ass kicked. But hey, we’re in the age of remakes..................

That would bring on lawsuits however the liberal SC justices in those states might well go along with it. Not sure.

Always, I am reminded of the genius of our founding Fathers. Always I am disgusted by liberals efforts to subvert our Constitution and Bill of Rights.

There are no national elections. Elections are by state. That’s why there is an electoral college.

The voters of other states do not represent your state.

The Constitution gives the states very wide latitude in deciding how their electors are chosen. But you do make a very good point.

I suppose it will all come down to who is sitting on the Supreme Court when this case is heard.

They only care about leftist. They have handouts going for them and that’s about it. Unworthy of American freedom. American freedom doesn’t fit everyone one. They aren’t moral enough or smart enough to live it.

I would do several things now the Trump has the Presidency. The first is mandatory teaching of the constitution. The first week of school, all students from first grade through a senior in high school will learn the constitution. Create a curriculum where it starts easy and becomes more complex as the student progresses through school. The second thing I would do is randomly select high school seniors to run the polling stations on Election Day. It is based on the culmination of teaching the constitution and it should be considered an honor to be selected. Make it a national holiday. Plus you get rid of all party hacks.

The electoral votes from California should be cut in half until they can prove they have stopped illegal voting.

Cutting California’s electoral votes will insure that we can have a strong of Trump like presidents. Giving us time to totally revamp America. Its time for total victory over the enemy, the leftist.

This silliness is contrary to the U.S. Constitution. It needs to have a supreme Court test - after Trump fills Scalia’s position!

Amending the Constitution requires the ratification of a proposed amendment by a majority of States [60%}?

The process is deliberately lengthy. Each sate going willy nilly is not proper according to our constitution. Even after the required number of states agrees to the wording of the amendment, then it is put before each state and the people vote either yes or no. Only when enough states agree to the amendment, does it get passed.

I remember when the ERA was going through this process, it did not get enough of the states to approve this last step before running out of time.

Liberals always try to cheat the process when it gets difficult.

No kidding! Recall Dingle Harry Reid voted in the nuclear option to limit filibuster & eventually voted who or what they wanted. Now the Republicans own it. Democrats are sooo shorted sighted!!

We are the Unites STATES of America, not the United Citizens of America.

The states elect the president.

The citizens elect their state representatives.

This silliness is contrary to the U.S. Constitution.

*****************

Explain how you see this as contrary to the U.S. Constitution please. As I understand what
they are proposing is that their state’s electors are selected based upon the national vote as
opposed to selection upon vote within their state.

The question to me becomes is this selection method prohibited by the U.S. Constitution? If so
where is it stated and how is prohibited. Basically I don’t see the 12th Amendment specifying
that a state couldn’t use the national vote as a specificer for how they cast their electoral votes.

Any info would be helpful. Thanks.
