Oh that is the most egregious application of the law that I have ever heard of. That’s a shame, no it’s criminal, on so many levels.
It was awful. That combined with some other lunacy I won’t bother to go into here lead me to decide not to report certain things if I ever see them. If that’s the way those laws are going to be enforced I certainly won’t have a hand in enforcing them.
I’ve long ago started warning high school and college age friends to check the ID of anyone they start dating. Literally all it takes is one overzealous cop, one father who wants you away from his daughter any way he can...and suddenly you’re facing a hideous charge that you’ll never escape from even if you’re found innocent. It’s not paranoia; it’s already happened several times.
