The F-35 may be a much better plane, but we currently look like we have missions which do not NEED the F-35’s capabilities.
For such missions, it makes more sense to use cheaper aircraft, rather than putting wear on expensive F-35 airframes.
Exactly right. And along that same vain, a few thousand more A-10s would probably be a good idea. With whatever upgrades that may be available.
