President-elect Donald Trump probably will not often communicate with the nation via traditional press conferences. Nor will Trump likely field many questions from New York/Washington journalists.
What we know as "the media" never imagined a Trump victory. It has become unhinged at the reality of a Trump presidency.
No wonder the fading establishment media is now distrusted by a majority of the public, according to Gallup -- and becoming irrelevant even among progressives.
Once upon a time in the 1960s, all the iconic news anchors, from Walter Cronkite to David Brinkley, were liberal. But they at least hid their inherent biases behind a professional veneer that allowed them to filter stories through left-wing lenses without much pushback.
When Cronkite returned from Vietnam after the 1968 Tet Offensive and declared the war stalemated and unwinnable, no one dared to offer the dissenting viewpoint that Tet was actually a decisive American victory.

Well what is true is the total media monopoly is gone. Unfortunately most public facing entities are dominated by the left and they are doubling down. Ad agencies, Hollywood, universities, most news outlets are all tools of the left. If just one of the 3 major networks could be turned think what that would do. But it seems like there is impenetrable wall to stop this.So Trump will have to go around them. If Reagan did it MAYBE Trump can.

It was (hopefully past tense) a period of corruption, whatever it’s called.
Quote:
“Hope the media dies a slow and painful death.”
Amen.
The Media’s questions to Trump yesterday were all about “offending Muslims” and no concern whatsoever about the victim’s of the Christmas market “truck attack” in Berlin.
The corporate Media are a nothing more than a criminal fifth column intent on destroying our American republic.
JUST KEEP REPEATING IT! Every time you hear a national news story, especially one where you can spot the spin, say “WHO LISTENS TO THEM ANY MORE”
Make the person feel stupid for believing the main stream media.
There is one moron here who actually fed me a story from the MSM about Gingrich saying that Trump has gone back on his promise to “drain the swamp”. When that is clearly NOT what Gingrich was saying, but what the reporter was feeding him TRYING TO GET HIM to say that.
With Twitter and Facebook, among other so-called ‘social media’, Trump can address the American people directly, without any WaPo?NYT/LAT spin or Dinosaur Media bias thrown on it.
Reagan was called “The Great Communicator”, Trump may well be called “The Direct Communicator”..................
What we need is a network that will ‘Call Out’ the other networks on their lies and half-truths IOW, Name names................
Maybe? Where have you been for the last yaer and a half?
I trust the Enquirer too
Everyone knows that the media spins everything pro-liberal, anti-conservative - they are like the King with no clothes and refuse to admit it.
Trump will go around them, it’s really the only way to go.
I guess it would be a good time to take back the NW Corner of the White House Lawn. It’s an ugly array of communications equipment for the press for outside news casts. Until the press learns some integrity they shouldn’t have permanent location at the WH.
My grandpa used to call cronkite, Red Walter.
No, never. For the same reason I wasn't sent to public school. Or fed from a dumpster.
Both the Democrat Party and their Media lock-steppers have commited self-inflicted destruction upon themselves!!! End of story!!!
The so called “Fake News” meme being thrown at Fox and the internet is the MSM’s attempt to shove the genie back in the bottle.
They don’t realize that, in effect, what they are saying is:
“Don’t believe their lies, believe ours.”
lol. Alex Jones.
BKMK for later
I would prefer a QUICK AND DECISIVE EXECUTION.
Thanks for setting the record straight with the truth.
Journalists such as Jim Rutenberg of The New York Times and Christiane Amanpour of CNN said that they could not -- and should not -- be neutral reporters, given their low opinion of Trump.
Game on. They live by this sword, they die by it, too.
