California gained an embassy in Russia last weekend, at least in the eyes of those who have promised to seek a statewide vote on secession, nicknamed "Calexit," in 2018.

Louis Marinelli, a San Diego resident who is the leader of the group promoting an effort to turn the state into an independent country , organized the Moscow event that was publicized on social media.

"We want to start laying the groundwork for a dialogue about an independent California joining the United Nations now," he said in an email Monday.

Trump should declare the entire state of California in rebellion, declare martial law there, suspend all civil governments, send in the military, arrest Brown et al for treason, round up all the Mexicans and deport them. Then get the state divided into three states and divide the Ninth Circuit Court district.

It would probably cost several hundred billion dollars but that would be the least of our problems

That is what I was thinking. The Rukies would assume their pension debt and all the illegals. What is it now, it was 10 billion a few years ago. Bankrupt the USSR like Ronaldo Magnus did!

But it has already been done.

The "Texas Legation" accredited at the Court of St. James, London, England, circa 1842-1846.

What about the conservative Jefferson secession movement by conservative northern California?

You make it sound so easy. :/

The left has total control over California to the point that they had 2 dem senators run against each other. They feel disenfranchised by the electoral college. All this talk about getting out of the EC is directed at California and this would be their way out. Plus, we have all these conservatives who are saying Yeah! Go for it!

Makes me sick

They’d get the entire state. They aren’t going to give up ‘Jefferson’ if they can actually pull off this crazy idea.

Wrong. They might not "give up" Jefferson willingly, but they'd give it up anyway. Jefferson is where a whole bunch of pissed off, gun-toting cowboys live, not to mention those from the rest of the state who would join their revolution. Heck, if California tried to pull this crap, they'd lose at least 2/3 of the state to people loyal to the USA and disgusted with the left-wing nutbag fairy queers that run the state. Guaranteed.

Not so big a problem as you’d think - and think of all the money and heartache we’d save with the liberals unable to get nationwide office for the next half-century plus!

My bad. The Jefferson movement was secession from California, not the USA.

We’d have a civil war. That is not exactly what we need right now.

It doesn’t make sense and it would be strange if Californians really wanted to be part of some russian plot but they almost pulled this off in Scotland

When Ukraine separated from Russia, the pensions were cut as well as savings to 10 cents on the dollar.

Cut all their funding. They keep electing dimmotrash like Pelosi, Boxer, and Jerry Brown to represent them. They keep giving sanctuary to criminals who cross the border illegally. They are crazier than crazy. Let them try to make it on their own without everyone else’s pooled tax money. The very thought that they think they can secede AND they go to Russian to get support for it tells you what a hopeless bunch of absolute lunatics these folks are. Maybe for the sake of safety, one of Trump’s walls should wall off Crazyfornia from the rest of the U.S. lest we catch whatever they have!
