Secondly, many republicans in solid blue states didn’t even bother to vote in 2016 because they knew their vote didn’t matter under electoral college rules. My 3 siblings living in SoCal are an example. Why bother to vote when you have no chance of winning. But in a popular vote contest, every vote matters even in the bluest of states...
