The democrats best bet Is to jettison the left, merge with the Rino’s and form a centrist party. Then work with the Conservative party to destroy the left. Then once we go through a few cycles go back to republican and democrat.

I am undecided as to whether it helps the Va. GOP for Tim Kaine to run for re-election in 2018. He seems tainted to me but we’ll have to see how the 115th session plays out.

2016 map exhibits the Republican Party expansion.
2014 map is Congressional results when the Democrats got slaughtered.

2016 map was better than we could have ever imagined.

McCaskill will not be able to masquerade as anything but a strong progressive, even though she never talks that way when she’s in Missouri. Her voting record will sink her, as long as she gets a decent opponent.

In addition to the 23 dems seats, there are two other so-called Independent liberals running for re-election....
Angus King in Maine and Bernie Sanders in Vermont.

To pick up 15, the most likely path I can see is:

* All the states Trump won (FL, IN, MI, MO, MT, ND, OH, PA, WV, WI)

* The close states that have demographics in large areas that lean Trump (ME, MN, VA)

That gets us to 65. A strong candidate like Susana Martinez in New Mexico can get us to 66 - but where for 67? I see a few possibilities:

* IF Bernie Sanders decides to leave the Senate, whether for a Governor run or retirement from politics, Vermont has an independent streak that we can try to exploit despite its liberal bent (Sanders is pretty much unbeatable) - I’d say that would be the best bet, but requires a lot of help

* New York might be a fringe target IF upstate turnout is enormous combined with a depressed NYC urbanite turnout

* Some other coastal fluke?

Maybe Trump can deport some of the illegal Somali muslims from Minnesota.

You mean -
Maybe Trump can deport all Muslims from Minnesota. And all Muslims in every state in the Union!
Send them back to their tents in the Mid-East or send them to Australia.

I came up with the answer earlier today: Give the Liberal Progressive Democrats an incentive to move to California. It’s already gone, and consolidating them there would probably turn several salvagable states from blue to red.

They’d love it there because it has all their favorite stuff: drugs, porn, celebs, warm weather, and lots of brown people speaking Espanol to make them feel good and trim their lawns.

Look at it as draining the swamp, only we’d be draining the red and purple states, with the end of the hose stuck somewhere in the San Francisco Bay.

And the obstruction, hysteric in the Dem base are currently doing everything they can to help make this GOP dream reality.

That is my thinking - they are pulling such crazy stuff that at least a few of the saner Democratic voters must be reconsidering. If they keep up their idiotic ploys for the next two years (one can only hope), they might get slaughtered again in 2018.

I think 2018 hindges on a combination of things. Part of it is the insanity from the Dem but it also has to be matched with good government from Trump and the GOP. I am not worried about Trump, I am a little worried about the US House and totally worried about the GOP-E morons in the US Senate.

Trump should start deporting illegals in these Senate states first!

Put the word out that Illinois and California will be last...and that’s where they’ll migrate.
