I just went to Home Depot, Lowes, and Wal-Mart today to try to get another yard electrical stake. NONE of them had full inventory of any Christmas/Seasonal items 10 days before Christmas. The stores believe they already need to rotate their inventory to something else. There were no stakes to be found.

The morons running retail stores circle jerk each other and now they all believe somehow removing their Christmas inventory sometime in early December is a good idea. Meanwhile, they can’t seem to figure out why seasonal sales are down.

The dumbing down of America continues.

Nordstrom, a store I used to shop at regularly, went full homosexual with their clothing. Their entire clothing lines are driven by homosexual fashion trends. It seems like they found a warehouse full of 1977 disco clothing and are re-releasing those lines.

We just went through a similar experience this week. We needed a carpet cleaner and picked one based on online reviews. Costco, Home Depot, and Walmart all sold the machine online and said it may be available in the store. We started at Costco and hit the other two stores plus Lowes with no luck; spent about an hour and a half searching through the box stores.

Went home empty handed. Spent 10 minutes on Amazon, got the machine delivered to our door in 36 hours and saved $30. The managers wonder why sales are slipping...

There is a philosophy in retail—don’t chase the last dollar. The retailers like to “go in lean and come out clean”, i.e., not have a lot of dead inventory after the holiday that they either need to mark down or store until the following Christmas. Not saying I necessarily agree—I see local stores, for example, already running out of heaters and winter isn’t even here yet. There should be a happy medium, for sure.
