Clinton Campaign May Have Been Too Smart to Win
New York Magazine ^ | 12/14/2016 | Ed Kilgore

The hardest thing about explaining very close election defeats is that you can talk yourself into believing any number of factors, large or small, could have made the crucial difference. Hillary Clinton’s defeat came down to 100,000 votes in three states out of nearly 130 million cast nationally. That’s a deficit so tiny that the search for a single culprit will probably take political detectives down the dark road to madness.

It is understandable that within the ranks of the Clinton campaign’s own high command, it is an article of faith that FBI director James Comey cost HRC the presidency by making the ridiculous email-server issue the dominant subject of conversation during the crucial last days of the campaign. It was an external event that came out of the blue (or more specifically, out of the fevered libido of Anthony Weiner) and reinforced doubts about Clinton’s trustworthiness among a small group of undecided voters in key states.

Yes. Yes. Of course. progressives liberals and Marxists are just too smart to be appreciated in a country filled with deploreable hillbillies.

” . . . making the ridiculous email-server issue the dominant subject . . .”

If pointing out the hypocrisy of Democrats carried a financial value, one could make a steady, comfortable living with almost no effort.

On the one hand, maintaining a home-brew server full of classified material under conditions of laughable security is a “ridiculous issue”.

On the other hand, the unproven contention that the Russians released private emails hacked from the DNC is presented as the greatest scandal since Watergate.

These clowns never fail to amaze me.

Arrogance and presumptuousness not seen since Adlai Stevenson.

Yes! He also lost twice!

(I remember that. I still have my "I Like Ike" button)

t is understandable that within the ranks of the Clinton campaign’s own high command, it is an article of faith that FBI director James Comey cost HRC the presidency...

It is not Comey's letter about the emails that cost Hillary the Presidency, it was the emails themselves.

Hillary set up a private server so she could blur the lines between her duties as Secretary of State and her activities with the Clinton Foundation, while avoiding disclosure of these activities through Freedom of Information Act requests.

It was necessary to conceal this information, because the combination of the Secretary of State position with the money raising activities of the Clinton Foundation amounted to a criminal enterprise. If Hillary's email traffic had been hosted on State Department servers, it would have been impossible to conceal the illegal activity.

The Comey investigation was the result of Hillary's decision to run a criminal enterprise. As the voting public learned the details of this criminal enterprise, it became impossible for her to win the election.

Hillary ran a campaign based on data.

Trump ran a campaign based on people.

HUGE difference !!!

Yeah, sure....too smart by half.

For over two decades I’ve heard continuously that Hillary is the smartest woman in the world. Without a single shred of evidence.

"Hillary Clinton’s defeat came down to 100,000 votes in three states out of nearly 130 million cast nationally."

Given the possibility of rigged voting, I'm not buying the idea that Hillary's defeat came down to 100,000 votes.

It was divine intervention that decided the election.

The Holy Spirit confounded enough of her supporters with the delusion that the election was in the bag and it was only proper to stay home and celebrate with their thunder bird wine and legal pot.

Give thanks to the one true God and pray for the divine guidance of our President elect.

She failed her job performance review. Unwilling to accept blame for errors on her watch. Profiteering while at work. Disregard for company policies on security of classified information. Refusal to permit review of communications or answer questions.
