I live in Bakersfield. I’ve had dealings with the cops here.

They’re tough but no where near out of control.

Now, look at the actual facts as reported.

Woman accosted outside her house at around midnight. She saw something that looked like the grip of a pistol sticking out of the guy’s pants pocket. Her boyfriend calls the cops.

Cops come. Dumbass refuses to remove his hand from his pocket that has the object that witnesses thought might be a pistol.

Cop is not psychic. Cop is not paid to be a martyr to your or any other persons feelz.

Dumbass didn’t comply and there was absolutely no reason not to assume the dumbass was armed.

Sounds a whole lot like suicide by cop to me.

But, of course, with all those around here who’ve gotten on their knees to wrap their lips around the BLM propaganda spigot to suck down and swallow, without thought, whatever is pumped into them, no wonder so many jump to the “but mah feelz!!!” with no attempt at thinking it through at all.

I like you. Trying to deal with stuff using logic and reason. Who’da thunk it?

Your post is disgusting, and I suspect so are you.

It has been 30 years since I wore a badge with Indiana’s state seal but “shoot first, ask questions later “wasn’t the standard in my area. Other local officers talked a man armed with a rifle into surrendering when the apparently approved response now by some departments is shoot on sight any “civilian” with gun.And quite recently a local officer fired only ONCE to stop a knife-holding robber ,wounding the subject but not killing him in a panic-driven emptying of the pistol.

Some restraint and common sense is sorely needed. Every time any cop kills a citizen or pet unnecceessarily he or she gives the citizenry more VALID reason to fear and hate police. Just like every official who uses police or armed agents to enforce an ever more intrusive set of regukations and taxes give citizens cause to hate police and government.

I note a lot of these bad shoots are occuring in Democrat liberal ares;perhaps just another facet of the denial of personal responsibilty to use good judgment like the idiotic “no tolerance” policies .

"Dumbass didn’t comply and there was absolutely no reason not to assume the dumbass was armed."

I think in these types of situations the cop should backoff and take a defensive position, and take time to reassess the situation and call for backup. Todays cops seem way to eager to become the aggressor when sometimes it is not necessary. But I supposed that is how they are being trained these days?
