My ancestors were proud to fight for something worth fighting for instead of a repressive Imperial government.

Trump has a website where he asks for suggestions. Right after the election I suggested that he call a meeting in every department where some of the most onerous and extra-legal rules and regs were posted by bureaucrats—and demand the perpetrators attend the meeting.

It would be an accountability meeting and although he couldn’t fire them, he could transfer them individually to some agency office out in the boondocks. “You’re transfered!”

I suspect a lot of them would retire.

Just keep Perry the hell away from border issues and policies regarding illegals.

That, sir, is a thing of beauty. It seems that you’ve done this before.

“They regulate nukes”

Not exactly, that is the NRC that regulates commercial nuke power plants.

But DOE folks administer contractors that work at nuke weapon production/support sites (Pantex, Savannah River, Hanford, etc) and administer myriad cleanup operations of former facilities used in the past for weapons cycle activities.

People who have committed no crime do not do things like this. Someone is trying to cover up something BIG.

This appointment conveniently removes Perry from anything affecting those issues.

Very conveniently.

“Yucca Mountain jobs”...

Harry Reid is gonna implode when the spent fuel starts rolling for permanent disposal at Yucca Mountain (if Satan hasn’t taken him back by then).

Yucca Mountain was an unreported ‘nuther example of O0bomma administration simply disobeying a duly enacted law (From the ‘80s).

Harry’s boy (Harry’s former Senate Staff member) installed as head of NRC, over weak objections by ‘Pubs and Bush admininstration) got Yucca Mountain process sidetracked before he was run off for incompetence and mutiny of other NRC Commissioners.

Trump and Perry and other patriots can get progress to permanent repository back on track in a year or two.

...the bulk of its workforce — nearly 100,000 employees — comes from private contractors.
***************************************
One of the top priorities Perry should direct would be a review of the contracts to determine exactly what work each private contractor is responsible for doing, number of employees, how much money is being paid, what is their performance rating and is the work necessary.

Then, aim to cancel at least 50% of contractors AND DoE employees.

No cost impact to the government....other than wasting their time and making them to do unnecessary work.

But then you repeat yourself when you say the word, government.......

The joke will be on us though I suspect.

Yeah Perry made a campaign ugh O with the DoE brain fart but when put over this Department he will be rolling in the dough. Perry is a go along to get along politician.

He will not go in bashing heads or kicking butts. Oh he will make big speeches and some small fry lackey will go to the chopping block. That is the way he handled his border wars in Texas. He made small fry advancements never letting the sanctuary cities or any big businesses (HEB, Pilgrim) be touched by laws intending to stem the flow.

Spent tons of our money with "Operation Linebacker" and "Operation LB 2" leaving the internal Texas drug

//In August, you mandate that the word “toxic” is bad to use and a new word must be used. You start to repeat this procedure every other week.//

MrR and his dad worked for a telecomm engineering firm that was like that. No joke, they would go to lunch and come back and the Standards would change.

MrR worked for another firm as a supervisor where he had to change each drawing from ‘porch’ to ‘stoop’ because some yahoo on the east coast insisted that was the word to be used. Lots of manhours lost on stupid things like that.

Thanks for the correction. I thought the NRC was part of the DOE but it is independent.

If the Trump administration is able to get all they are asking for and then blacklists people as is feared, imagine what would happen the next time Dems are in control.

My mother’s father left Prussia in the 1880’s to come to America. He was a Prussian naval officer and did not like the direction he could see that Bismarck was going.

Auditing reimbursed expenses, tracking govt. credit cards could be done, but a great deal more expense and work, and a lot slower than being given the list and checking it twice.

Ironically, when Perry was asked to name the three agencies he wanted to do away with, Energy was the one he couldn't remember.

Are you sure?

I cannot see into the TAMU Cheerleader's mind. He could have meant Education said nothing then Energy but meant Education or really Transportation.

Who knows!!!!!!

True.

If I ever flat out refused to comply with a boss request, I’d have been cited for insubordination and reprimanded.

This is actually a wonderful opportunity to clean house.

I don’t think DJT would do it, but 95% of the Fed Gov’t Departments are unconstitutional and should be dismantled. Imagine how much money could be saved ~ DJT should love that!
