The left will bleat in outrage but the real reason they will dislike Tillerson and most of Trump’s appointees is that they are business people.

Unlike academics and politicians, business people actually have experience in the real world and know that one can’t just talk about doing things; they must actually do them!

This will be very bad for the Obamas, Warrens and McCains of the world, whose sole parlor trick is to blather incessantly for ever and never follow through because they simply do not know how.

Trump trolled Mitt. He is playing the Media and the establishment cronies like a fiddle, and they don’t have a clue.

Good! Run it like a business. Can’t be any worse than what we have now.

I know nothing at all about Tillerson so I can’t even begin to have an opinion other than this: In many ways, I’m glad he picked someone who is not a typical DC political insider. We know where that’s gotten us. I’m willing to try something else just to see what happens.

I am willing to pay $3.00/gal. gas so that our oil and gas industry will thrive. We need $60 oil and $4.00 natural gas.

We kind of always knew that America is a plutocracy run by corporations. I guess we can thank Trump for putting this out in broad daylight now.

I think it is as Calvin Coolidge once said: “The business of government is business.”

You are giving them too much credit. They never intended to follow through, because they believe the electorate is to distracted and stupid to hold them accountable.

Oh and he picked them for the Sec of Defense and the head of the NSA also did he now?

About time we had somebody with sense to make good trade deals for us.

What a lot of commentators are overlooking is that Exxon is bigger than a lot of countries.
And Tillerson didn’t get where he is because his father left it to him.
He is the head of a virtual state, and an oil “state” at that.
I’d say that makes him experienced and qualified, well beyond most men.

The most important thing is to take control away from the OPEC countries that don’t like us very much and pressure us to do things, such as abandon Israel, fight Assad instead of Isis and ignore Iran’s nuclear ambitions. It’s all about islamic oil

"So much for Mitt Zombie."

I don't know, wouldn't consider it over for mitt till all positions are filled. Mitt may still get a job as a mail boy or doorman or overseer of mooche's garden where much fertilizer is needed.

Considering how mitt tried to sneak in during the Presidential run, he may try to do same with the SOS position.

“We kind of always knew that America is a plutocracy run by corporations. I guess we can thank Trump for putting this out in broad daylight now.”

I agree. It would be far better to pick ignorant professor-type neophytes to deal with the international corporate cutthroats than insiders who understand them, are used to winning deals with them, and who know where their pressure points are. You know, like all of obama’s appointees, for example.

This man is an excellent choice to be Secretary of State.

I am so proud of Trump and for his ability to choose the right people for the right job.

I’m also very thankful it wasn’t Romney or Petraeus.
