Exactly. The 'rats won't listen to anyone, certainly not us unwashed flyover country bitter-clingers. The modern day liberals, aka socialists, aka national socialists, aka fascists, aka big-government control freaks, aka nanny-state {expletives}... Why, they know best... We're just to ignorant to see it. They must force us, must impose their will on us - for our own good, for the greater good, for the children...

The above, that's not sarcasm. I firmly believe that is the actual prevailing attitude of many of the so-called liberal elites. They actually think they know better than the Founding Fathers, they actually think they know better than us what is good for us. They exist in a tank, in an echo-chamber of their own making. They literally have no idea just how wildly disconnected from reality they actually are. Waking them up is going to be painful and expensive. They've experienced some of that this past election cycle. Will it be enough? Sadly, I kind of doubt it.

Here's my free advice 'rats, in the real world...

...no one really cares who bakes Frank and Dave's wedding cake or if no-one does.
...when someone calls themselves Islamic State and kills in the name of Islam, we actually call it Islamic terrorism.
...if you threaten someone's life, they're likely to respond in kind. This is especially true if they are wearing a uniform and a badge.
...equal protection under the law is actually kind of important, enforcing the laws isn't racist. Countries without borders are not Countries.
...adding government "oversight" and regulation to anything has not, does not, and never will improve it's efficiency or lower it's cost. This is particularly true of healthcare.
...socialism sucks. While it might sound good and reasonable on the surface, it has a 100% failure rate at creating happy prosperous societies. No, this time won't be different, don't even try.
...yes, reasonable and intelligent people actually hold opinions and beliefs that differ from yours. Just because you hold your beliefs doesn't make them any more or less valid than someone else's. Stop insulting everyone and actually embrace diversity.
...in spite of how you were raised, you don't automatically get a reward for your best effort. Sometimes you still lose, and losing is losing. It's called growing up, and you're going to have to do it sometime.
...global warming is a scam. Stop your reaction to that right here, right now. Accept it, it *is* a scam. Yes, the climate is changing, realize it has always been changing. Realize we humans have very little to do with it and there is actually not much we could do for better or worse. Take your carbon credits and go home.
...the popular vote does not matter. So stop saying Clinton won the popular vote. My left front tire was a few psi low, so I put some air in it yesterday. Guess what, that has exactly the same significance in the outcome of the election.
...the Chinese, Russians, or who-ever you want to blame this week didn't "hack" the election. Wikileaks source was apparently inside the DNC. People don't really care who or how the information was leaked. What they care about is the rampant, widespread criminal behavior and corruption the leaked information revealed.
