President-elect Donald Trump announced Monday that he would appoint Goldman Sachs President Gary D. Cohn as the president’s chief economic adviser and director of the National Economic Council.

Mr. Trump said that Mr. Cohn would be able to put his renowned business know-how to work for the American people.

“He will help craft economic policies that will grow wages for our workers, stop the exodus of jobs overseas and create many great new opportunities for Americans who have been struggling,” Mr. Trump said in a statement. “He fully understands the economy and will use all of his vast knowledge and experience to make sure the American people start winning again.”

There are plenty of other places he could find a good economic advisor. To infer because i am not for a guy from GS, it means i am suggesting a guy who drives a carriage around, is idiotic.

I am not exactly where you are. I think if he does realize he made a bad pick he will remedy it in shorter order than a regular politician would.

Hes made some good picks, and he is apparently not immune in making what i consider bad picks. I didnt expect him to make every single selection to my satisfaction, i just say good pick or bad pick based on what he does.

I am a staunch conservative Christian. I know Trump is not going to mirror me exactly. I will work to move him closer to me via contscting him via his emails and discussing what i think are his good and bad moves, here.

I am not going to throw in the towel as the guy hasnt even been sworn in yet, and he may possibly change his mind on things not yet fimalized.

And just WHO would you prefer he choose?

Come one, step up to the plate and name names and where they all work and what they have done and just WHO they know.

Walter Williams.

But as to your other part, so i cant be critical of a choice,if i dont have someone else in mind? I,cant just say i think its a bad choice?

When i say he made a good choice i dont see you needling me to explain why.

I would say anyone from the Heritage Foundation, or anyone from Hillsdale College’s economic area, in a heartbeat.

Williams is too old and not really up on what's what today.

I've liked and followed him since 1970, but of late, he isn't the same man he was. He also has an ego that's BIGGER than Trump's! :-)

You want a college prof? All theory and no actual experience?

Oh you can say whatever stupid thing you want to, but nobody has to agree with you either and I, most assuredly can and shall call you out on it!

The Heritage Foundation is a THINK TANK. No more people from THINK TANKS !

Ms Cruz was not going to resign her job at GS.
Cohn is resigning and taking a YUUGE cut in pay to put his economic smarts to use for America.
Trump is hiring the killers he promised us. If this guy doesn’t help produce jobs and a booming economy for the USA, he will be Fired Pronto.

Your assumptions are flawed. Because hes older Wiliams cant do it? We need fundamentals of,economics followed again. Assuming all college profs could never be a professional come back to the classroom to teach? Assuming that there arent business people in the heritage foundation either?

Lets just move on. You dont like I dont like a goldman sachs pick because you do. Thats what it boils down to. Do you work there? Have relatives that work there? Whatever personal nerve it touched I am sorry you are sensitive to such mimor criticism of its not a great choice.

You have a good one.

Well, all I can say is, if some of these appointments don’t work out, Trump doesn’t seem to have any trouble saying, “Ya fi-ed!

That’s called selective memory. You’re supposed to just move along and not point out any hypocrisy.

Oh, I got that memo several times during the election cycle. They even banned me to the side lines for a while. Well, I'm back and believe these peeps need to be reminded on a daily basis.

We are now beset within the worship phase

Yep, 8 years of ObucketOshiite will make you pick up on the worship phase real quick. And, of course this phase is not party specific and when the parties are separated by a razor thin line, you get a lot of cross over worshipers.

So now we have 2 big oil, 2 big bank and possibly one big Texas reject that we do not want back.

Well, and one good Marine to handle all the heavy lifting. We should be good.

Most of his picks have been good thus far and hell even this one might be good as well. Time will tell. What I take great exception to is the parade of people out and out right trashing a cantidates wife about working for the very company a big wig just appointed someone from; even trashing GS. it’s merely hypocrisy is what I’m pointing out.

I wouldn’t have asked Heidi to resign her position that’s her job and how she chooses to lead it should be left to her. The pay cut...guys at his level don’t care about the money they’ve got more than they’ll spend in several lifetimes...it’s about power at that level and to a small extent ego

No. I would rather have somebody from a company that has some ethics and that has not been hand and glove with the dammed ivory tower government for the last 20 years. You don’t “drain the swamp” by inviting in the cold-blooded reptiles that helped make the swamp in the first place.

GS is (being kind) ammoral — being realistic, it is one of the most evil and vile organizations in the world today. Nothing decent has ever come from that company.

Bu-——it! Let me tell you about Goldman... When putting together a hedge fund full of the crappy mortgage loans that BOTH the dems (under xlinton) and GOPe (Bush) told the banks to make, the fine folks at Goldman concluded that the hedge fund was full of sh-——bag loans that were going to blow up. They told potential investors that the fund would make them beaucoup cash. People bought. GS got commissions and management fees out the wazzoo and they got richer.

Meanwhile, another division of GS saw the fund was full of sh-——bag loans that would blow up, so they shorted THEIR OWN COMPANY’S FUND. When it did blow up, GS got richer. The people that invested lost their money. Nobody went to jail for this fraud or insider trading. One of the people involved was a former Secretary of the Treasury under the ‘toon.

There are few or no things in the world more evil or vile than Goldman Sachs.

First not everyone at Goldman Sachs is a bad guy.

I agree it is alarming. At the same time President Elect Trump will need people that know the ropes and how things are done in order to maneuver through the Swamp.

Give President Elect Trump your full support now. We can recess after a year or two. If Trump starts going the Globalist route in policies, then I will not hold back.

Nevertheless, what I have seen from PEOTUS is not short of Outstanding. Just think he is not even in office.

Right now is not the time to Monday Morning QB. Give President-Elect Trump our 100% support. Again he’s not even in office! As far as I’m concerned. He has not let us down.
