Harriet Tubman risked her life repeatedly, conducting slaves through the underground railroad. This was not a paid position. She is a true hero.

Heros are a dime a dozen. You obviously do not know enough about Jackson. This is pure revisionism, like removing the confederate battle flag. Liberal incrementalism.

Harriet Tubman may have helped as many as 12 slaves escape.

Thank goodness Abraham Lincoln’s Emancipation Proclamation freed southern slaves only after the South had already seceded (and was absent from Congress)

...And the last slaves in our union were freed in New Jersey at the very end of the war.
