France’s Le Pen pledges no schooling for illegal migrants

Paris (AFP) – French far-right leader Marine Le Pen proposed Thursday that the children of illegal immigrants should be refused public school places as part of tough proposals to restrict state services.

“I’ve got nothing against foreigners but I say to them: if you come to our country, don’t expect that you will be taken care of, treated (by the health system) and that your children will be educated for free,” Le Pen said.

“That’s finished now, it’s the end of playtime,” she told an audience at a conference organised by a polling group in Paris.

Opinion polls suggest the leader of the National Front (FN) will finish second in next year’s presidential election but she is hoping for new momentum after Donald Trump’s victory in the United States.

Speaking to AFP afterwards, she clarified that she wanted to block education for immigrants who are in France illegally, not all foreigners.

Such a move would contravene current French law which guarantees school places for all children.

She also said that any foreigner using the public education system without paying tax in France would have to contribute.

Why is it that anyone who doesn’t do exactly what the liberal leftists want is labeled “far right”????

Because the Liberal Leftists are so far left that anything that approaches center looks "far right" to them.

I mean from your perspective, with no foreknowledge of facts, which planet looks farthest away? Jupiter or Mars? They are both "far".

Better yet Ms. Le Pen - just get them out of the country.

No kidding. Get them OUT OF THE COUNTRY or take the opportunity to educate them. But letting them stay, uneducated? Good grief. Someone hit her with a stupid stick on that one. Sometimes these things sound great to bellow, but there is nuance that makes all the difference in the world.

Why is Breitbart acting like morons parroting the far right label?

I think they may be embracing it and are proud of being called far right themselves. For decades the bend-over-to-get-along Republicans have so seriously tarnished the right wing label that now if you want to be taken seriously you have to be far right. JMHO

Seems you only read the title. She also said they wouldn’t get healthcare or other services.

This is just like Prop 187 a decade ago, where is an activist judge hadn’t overturned the will of the people, without free handouts most illegals would’ve left.

And Linda wants to give illegal kids here amnesty.

Hey, Linda - shouldn’t they be educated in their home country?

Be nice if Linda moved to New Zealand with Buzzy.

Nah, I get the healthcare, etc. But I don’t believe in passing up an opportunity to educate morons. Cut all services, hope they leave. No one will stay because junior gets a western ed for free, but the opportunity to really educate is a formidable weapon we should all be using.

I get your point. But to really truly educate they would have to be in another country.
