Yes, he should be placed SOMEWHERE within this Administration. Like Dr. Carson he has much to offer. Where this would be needed is the puzzle to solve.

He's playing...but he might be suitable for a different job. Trump just loves to hear what the media has to say about his "picks".

Notice that the media had nothing derogatory about the climate genius, Gore.

He left Boeing when he was passed over for the top corporate CEO position.
Fully explained in the book.
BTW, Ford was the only auto maker that did not take Øbama's bail out money adding that much more pressure on Mulally to succeed.
He is definitely "battle tested."

Thanks for the heads up. Is it business casual? I really hate wearing a tie.

I’m sure Bolton will get the pick...but this is fun to watch. The media has had to do a lot of research....way beyond their budget. Too funny!!

“Can we just come up with a list of who is not under consideration for Secretary of State? It might be easier.”

Go ahead and count me out. I haven’t been called ... yet.

Do we know anything about this other than he went to the Trump elevator?
Could he be being considered for Council of Economic Advisors?
U.S. Trade Representative?
Less likely but still plausible:
Sec. of Labor?
Domestic Policy Council?
Sec. of Energy?

” there would be a lot less controversy with Ford than Tillerson at Exxon.”

that’s a shame ...

“I wonder where Rudy and Newt are going to Land.”

Newt has repeatedly stated he doesn’t want to go to work for the government again, but would like to be a vision/strategy guy helping President Trump to reformulate the goals of government and how to make government meet those goals more efficiently and effectively. I get the impression Newt is thinking totally out of the box on this, and that his ideas would be revolutionary rather than just evolutionary.

Alan Mulally was also President and CEO of Boeing's commercial aircraft division before going to Ford. He left Boeing when he was passed over for the top corporate CEO position. Boeing is the largest US exporter; he has extensive international geo-political experience.

Then he knows all about our ridiculous and onerous export control regulations. It was supposedly "reformed" recently but that only made it more convoluted and complicated. We need to protect our critical technologies but the rules as applied are in many instances simply absurd.

And it's the State Department that regulates it.

Ok, before the news gets out...

I too was in Trump Tower and may have been interviewed for the SOS position.

I can neither confirm nor deny.

“I hope this is a joke!”

At this point maybe the hand-wringers can get that they, and no one else knows.

like FR needs another 26 separate posts, with 100 posts each, screaming bloody hell over some thing so and such SOS *maybe* candidate had said or written 19 years ago.

Know who else he worked for?

Boeing.

Engineer for several projects. VP of Airplane Development. CEO.

Considering the recent AF1 fracas, it makes me wonder.
