Yes, I was wondering if many of the perps were Muslim police officers. If so, their bosses probably wouldn’t dare blame them for fear of being fired for a hate crime.
There are plenty of articles around about British Muslim police, but I didn’t see numbers. The National Association of Muslim Police has more than 2000 members, and presumably not all Muslim police are members. Their chief interest seems to be the rights of Muslim police to wear jihabs, turbans, etc., while on duty.
It was reported a year or two ago that more British Muslims have served in ISIS than now serve in the UK armed forces.
