Donald Trumps nominations have turned out to be a pleasant surprise for some of his biggest conservative critics. That was Joe Scarboroughs take on todays Morning Joe. From James Mattis at Defense, to John Kelly at DHS, and now to EPA foe Scott Pruitt . . . at EPA, the President-elect has proposed people with strong records and in a number of cases, strong conservative philosophies.
So much so that Scarborough remarked: How fascinating that the Never Trumpers and the Wall Street Journal editorial page and the Bill Kristols, and all the people who were rightly the most skeptical of Donald Trump during the primary, have to sit back going, wow, I would not have gotten this with Jeb or Marco.

How do you like Trump now, Bill Kristol?
‘
Ping to Liberal Media Criticism list.
Rightly?
Bwahahahaha...
Rightly.
Totally agree. Jeb or Marco would have listened to
“the smart people” inside the beltway.
Most conservative President since Reagan...may even surpass Reagan in many areas. Goes to show that the GOP has fallen far.
I absolutely DESPISE the GOPe, RINOs and Never Trumpers.
They can all die, curl up, and blow away.
AND take Bill Kristol, Michael Medved, Carl Levin, Glenn Beck and George Will with you!
The never trumpets could not hear what the average Joe could hear from trump. The never trumpers mostly had a financial interest in being against trump.
NY values!!!
Sweet Bill Krystol is peeing in his panties.
Why are they pretending they wanted those nominations?
Bush 3.0
More Haliburtons and freddie macs!
Bush and Rubio would have let Chuck Schumer make their nominations for them.
-PJ
Rubio/Jeb! would have picked someone like Condi Rice for Defense instead of Mattis
No, they’d first look at all the Bush retreads. Then give in to Schumer’s ‘veto’
Condi wouldn’t take the job. She’s holding out for Goodell’s job at the NFL, hoping he gets canned soon.
They just wanted to look cool at the cocktail parties. “Oh, I’m a Republican, like Rubio.” “Yes, he gave a great speech. So dignified. Gravitas”
Trump wasn’t my first choice but once he got the nomination, there was no way in Hell I was going to waste my vote on some nothing of a “conservative” candidate, sit it out or vote for that corrupt grifter Hillary. Trump has done a great job with his cabinet picks. A lot of the “never Trump” crowd continues to find fault with him based on rumors and who he met with on this day or that day. Until you see who he actually picks for his cabinet, and the policies that he actually proposes to Congress, the rest is just noise and sour grapes.
Ok so they’d give the job to McCain
JOE: Ben Carson. But again, like we said, in Ben Carsons defense, even he says hes not qualified to do it. So the expectations
*****************************************************
Ben might end up being a “surprise” ... first HUD secretary to actually live in the projects ... he beat the odds to become a surgeon so he’s got plenty of gumption & I don’t think Trump will let him flounder. Give him some excellent deputies to run the nuts and bolts & let Ben be the uplifting inspiration - fits right in with Trump’s “dream again & dream big” message.
Because Yeb! and the ineligibles would not have gotten elected to appoint anybody.
