Shortly before Thanksgiving, New York Times columnist Frank Bruni wrote a column that should chill you to the bone.
Titled "Donald Trump's Demand for Love," Bruni said: "I had just shaken the president-elect's normal-size hand and he was moving on to the next person when he wheeled around, took a half step back, touched my arm and looked me in the eye anew. 'I'm going to get you to write some good stuff about me,' Donald Trump said.
Bruni is a fabulous writer, but if he ever writes good stuff about you, Mr. President-elect, YOU WILL HAVE FAILED.
I assume this was just our president-elect doing something he gets the least credit for, which is being nice. But you can never be too careful.
The Times is in total opposition to Trump's stated goal to make America great again. Trump has got to know -- not next year, but by 5 p.m. today -- that anyone pursuing his agenda will incite rage, insanity and spitting blood from that newspaper.
There's a long and tragic history of Republicans who won the war but lost the peace by trading results for respectability.

At whatever cost, and I mean whatever cost, do not give in t the liberals in Congress. The people will take care of them if they don’t cooperate this time. Just do what is right, Trump.
Ann is having a very difficult time adjusting to winning. Ann, you are part of the winning team. You are the establishment. Act like it.
I for one refuse to get my panties in a twist before Mr. Trump is even coronated. I’m sure there will be times we are disappointed in him - he’s human! But the right wing media (and a number of posters here) seem to be trying like heck to find something to bitch about him right now.
My only concern is that he will compromise.
I wouldn’t call it compromise, but he is definitely going to ease up, or scale back, in some ways. He won. Now he has to govern. Don’t try to out-Trump Trump. He will not disappoint - that’s my position.
I truly believe that Trump will wring out the very last drop of righteous change that he can...not everything desired can be done in 4 or even 8 years.
We have a long way to go.
Re-shape the SCOTUS.
Enact sane tax levels.
Fix as much voter fraud as possible.
Stop nation building.
End the distribution of social services to illegals.
(This will constitute the most formidable wall)
If he can make headway on those items I will be ecstatic.
I don’t think that’s Ann’s problem. If President elect Trump puts pleasing the NYT ahead of doing what he promised, he will not be able to do what he promised. To please the NYT, he must abandon what he promised. It’s easy to understand that.
bump for later
I started to think that but opted to read throiugh the whole article and it wasn't a hit piece on Trump as I had supposed. Part of the meat:
Trump will have no trouble enacting the rest of his agenda. If congressional Republicans are good for anything, it is to repeal Obamacare, cut taxes and regulation, confirm good judges and protect the Second Amendment. No one but Trump would have done it, but not even Nancy Pelosi is going to attack Trump for keeping jobs in America.
I'll give Ann a pass on this one but am still wondering what she's been smoking.
Ann has become a single-issue supporter, and is clearly skeptical of Trump’s determination to carry through on his immigration promises. I have to agree with her that caving on that issue would destroy him, but I’m not so quick to expect it. However, the repercussions of a Trump cave-in on immigration are enough to embolden his enemies even more, so expect that to be the weak spot the Left assails.
How he fends off the vicious assaults and stands by his principles will be the true measure of the man. So far, he’s doing fine.
I think Trump will be OK
I worry more about the RINOs in the Senate
They love to get their faces on the MSM and be praised as being reasonable
Trump has got to get them to see the light if that is possible
After SCOTUS reset the Military
Get rid of all the PC social garbage
Women out of combat and off the ships
And out of the Academies
And out of any command positions
Get rid of the homosexuals and all the sensitivity training both in the Academies and in the field
