So Conyers thinks that slaves should not have been counted as humans at all?
The 3/5ths clause is one of the most misunderstood and mischaracterized things in our history. Most who bring it up have little understanding of its purpose - and that would include Conyers, a low information congressman.
It was that same USSC institution that John values so much to kill babies and create marital anarchy that decided blacks were only 3/5 a person. And of course if John is honest, he would admit that his very own party is the same party of slavery.
So yes, John must agree that they were only at least 3/5 human. Sounds hypocritical, does it not?
