Led By California, Democrats Vow to Say ‘No’ to Trump — on Everything
Breitbart ^ | 12/7/16 | Joel B Pollak

Democrats are vowing to oppose incoming President Donald Trump on everything — from his Cabinet nominees to his policy proposals, from his executive orders to his Supreme Court nominations. They are doing so based on their mistaken projection of Trump as a nascent fascist; their hysterical and self-serving delusions about being “unsafe”; and their own faulty memories of Republican opposition to President Barack Obama. In do doing, Democrats are setting themselves up to continue to fail.

Dick Polman of Calbuzz makes the case for “no”:

"[Republicans in 2009] resolved to thwart Obama’s efforts to fix the Great Recession … Cooperating with Trump, behaving as if he were just another Republican, would lend legitimacy to his authoritarian bent. Cooperating with Trump would “normalize” his racist populism and his serial lies. Such a strategy — tantamount to surrender — would be disastrous for a Democratic Party that has spent decades fighting for tolerance and diversity."

Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Times chronicles Hollywood’s plans for cultural resistance. “Trump’s election was a gut punch to a liberal Hollywood that had backed Clinton.” While some in Tinseltown understand the meaning of the wake-up call, and are reaching out to the Americans they previously mocked and ignored, others have resolved to resist the Trump of their fevered nightmares, where he plays George Orwell’s Emmanuel Goldstein, the catch-all enemy, the target of Two Minutes’ Hate.

The Left, the MSM, Hollywood and the academic world have declared all-out war on our new president, Donald Trump, and his administration. They will lie, cheat (e.g. votng,) intimidate, disrupt and destroy n order to derail his presidency.

Do not get complacent with the election win and all the excitement around the new Trump administration. The Left and the MSM are as dangerous as ever. They have created their own faults reality or Donald Trump is absolutely evil and they are going to use that as the excuse to go to new lengths to destroy him. Do not get complacent from being around Freepers and conservatives who are aware of what the MSM are doing, because most Americans do not watch Fox news or read the conservative websites. They read their local papers, watch local and network news and believe with the MSM are saying.

The fight is not over. If Trumps ratings dip, the Left will attack. If there is any weakness the. Left will attack. They wil spin their own stories about Trump and could cripple him beyond effectveness. There are still a lot of brainwashed people who will go aling with it.

Fortunately because of their own stupidity there is not one damn thing they can do about it. Everything and everyone passes on a simple 51 vote majority.

This just goes to show how sick our society has become. From a new country which started off with such promise to this amoral fascist mess unable to accept actions resulting from the principles upon which our country was founded. The founders must be spinning in their graves. They, highly educated men and profound thinkers, outclass the superficial sound byte infants of today by a factor of thousands. Are there any critical thinkers left, or does everyone (except most FReepers) just take whatever biased pap the MSM dishes out as gospel?

Only appointments, and excluding Supreme Court appointments. They can filibuster other legislation. They can delay votes, use procedures to bog things down, and put holds on appointments to keep them from coming to a vote. They can't stop Trump, not completely. But they can make things hard and force the administration to spend time and effort better directed elsewhere.

On the bright side:

70% no longer trust the media.

Dems have six Senate seats up for reelection in deep red states and 10 in states Trump won.

Dems dramatically reduced the ability to filibuster in the last Congress. Now, Republicans will reap the benefits.

I remember the sermons for the Republicans to work together for the good of the country and not just be the party of NO. We Republicans extend our hand to the Dems and ask them at this time to work with us so we can avoid all the contention and gridlock in Washington. We have heard of your tolerance and goodness, so join us in this endeavor.

“Democrats Vow to Say ‘No’ to Trump — on Everything...”

If I were Trump, I would say—I was planning on giving every Californian $30,000 a piece, but since you plan on saying no to everything—that’s been nixed.

frankly all congressional leadership based in ca, should immediately resign in both parties, since ca is obviously out of step with the rest of the nation.

however, funny thing, it somehow happens that bulk of congressional leadership and power is based in contrarion ca. go figure.

Shouldn't there be a </sarcasm> tag in there somewhere?

They are doing so based on their mistaken projection of Trump as a nascent fascist; their hysterical and self-serving delusions about being “unsafe”;

Welcome to the party, democrats. I was saying no to Obama for almost 8 years, doing so based on the proven policies of Obama as a socialist fascist; a fear of being “unsafe” from Obama's sons run wild as he openly encouraged discrimination against non-blacks, proven by numerous media reportings. Democrats have nothing to fear from conservatives; we aren't the oppressive mob radicals that they are.
