What was finally real was Edgar Welch, driving from North Carolina to Washington to rescue sexually abused children he believed were hidden in mysterious tunnels beneath a neighborhood pizza joint.
What was real was Welch — a father, former firefighter and sometime movie actor who was drawn to dark mysteries he found on the Internet — terrifying customers and workers with his assault rifle as he searched Comet Ping Pong, police said. He found no hidden children, no secret chambers, no evidence of a child sex ring run by the failed Democratic candidate for president of the United States, or by her campaign chief, or by the owner of the pizza place.
What was false were the rumors he had read, stories that crisscrossed the globe about a charming little pizza place that features ping-pong tables in its back room.
The story of Pizzagate is about what is fake and what is real. It’s a tale of a scandal that never was, and of a fear that has spread through channels that did not even exist until recently.

The Podestas and their links to child porn and degenerate and violent depictions of children, are already a scandal.
The Post is providing cover — to its shame.
There have been enough posts on FR the last few weeks telling us how this is such a bad place. Who are you people and why were you posting this stuff? Did you fall for the fake news?
For a scandal that really didn’t get off the ground, the MSM is really defensive. If it’s not real, drop it already.

Podesta’s emails aren’t a rumor.
CNN, NBC, ABC, MSNBC, ad nauseum is the fake news and you know it.
What do you call fake? There is enough smoke here to suggest a major fire. Are all the dots connected? No. Could it be the Podestas are just extreme weirdos with a particular affinity (though innocent) for children? Yes, possible.
But to suggest it’s “fake news” is silly. It bears investigating. The Wiki connections to the Clintons and Huma and Weiner also are very damning. At the very least they were on the Pedophile Express. At worst, well, it’s something extremely sickening.
To not investigate this as a journalist would be completely irresponsible-—yet that is the WaPo’s position. So what is “fake?”

This article reminds me of the Washington Post’s hard hitting coverage of how the fake “Hands Up Don’t Shoot™” stories led to the violence in Ferguson.
