Media Matters founder David Brock gave a speech to a group of Democratic lawmakers and activists Monday in which he called the party to immediately begin resisting the Trump administration, even before Trump takes office:
Given the reality of the election, the Democratic Party must quickly learn to be an opposition party. I know it’s not in Democratic DNA, but the need to aggressively oppose Trump is urgent. We won the most votes in this election, and we should act like it. It’s time to put on our big boy pants.

Impeachment is coming if the Democrats take Congress. Conviction and removal is coming if the Democrats take the Senate, too.
It doesn’t matter if there is utterly no ‘high crime or misdemeanor’. Trump’s existence is enough.

Hmmmm, let’s see. First you’d need a Dem majority in the house to bring up charges. Nope, you don’t got that...
Then, you’d need 2/3 majority in Senate to convict and remove him from office. Nope, that not looking good either...
Before all of that even...he has to take office....then he has to commit to an impeachable offense, high crime/misdemeanor, blah blah blah...

I wrote the Trump campaign about this possibility the week before the election finale. No worries now, though. He already is “too presidential,” already has too much strength in Senate, and could add two more senators by appointing Heitkamp and Manchin to spots (they will vote for him anyway) and Dems can’t control House.
