DALLAS I am a Republican presidential elector, one of the 538 people asked to choose officially the president. People have asked me to change my vote based on policy disagreements. In some cases, they cite the popular vote difference. I do not think presidents-elect should be disqualified for policy disagreements. I do not think they should be disqualified because they won the Electoral College instead of the popular vote. However, now I am asked to cast a vote on Dec. 19 for someone who shows daily he is not qualified for the office.
Mr. Trump lacks the foreign policy experience and demeanor needed to be commander in chief. During the campaign more than 50 Republican former national security officials and foreign policy experts co-signed a letter opposing him. In their words, he would be a dangerous president. During the campaign Mr. Trump even said Russia should hack Hillary Clintons emails. This encouragement of an illegal act has troubled many members of Congress and troubles me.
Hamilton also reminded us that a president cannot be a demagogue. Mr. Trump urged violence against protesters at his rallies during the campaign. He speaks of retribution against his critics.
Finally, Mr. Trump does not understand that the Constitution expressly forbids a president to receive payments or gifts from foreign governments. We have reports that Mr. Trumps organization has business dealings in Argentina, Bahrain, Taiwan and elsewhere. Mr. Trump could be impeached in his first year given his dismissive responses to financial conflicts of interest. He has played fast and loose with the law for years. He may have violated the Cuban embargo, and there are reports of improprieties involving his foundation and actions he took against minority tenants in New York. Mr. Trump still seems to think that pattern of behavior can continue.

A conspiracy to steal the election is underway and it includes threatening Republican electors and RINOs doing what RINOs always do when it matters most.
Brace for the possibility of (un)civil war.
This was on twitter today, and this guy said that he didn’t say it...that it was taken out of content...
Perhaps for the same reason he won’t as posted several times today already with a source of the NYT
I’ll play tee-ball with his face.
I didn’t catch his/her name. Some Texans, I know , won’t like voting against the massive winner. ( for a very long time to come). I want a name or this could be FAKE NEWS!!!
I'd probably still replace this guy.
"I am a Republican presidential elector.."
SO WHAT?
I wonder if this can be posted anymore times in the past 2 days?
so hes willing to trade his personal integrity forever, for the temporary adulation of his political rivals....
like benedict arnold he will never regain his face for this treachery
I wouldn’t worry. It’s being reported on twitter that the Texas Republican party either has already or is going to remove this guy and send one of the alternate electors instead. There is a faithfully fulfill your duties clause that he violated by making this statement that allows them to remove and replace anybody who is unwilling or unable to fulfill their oath.
You missed a few follow-on stories....
I am ready. If this attempt to steal the election from Trump succeeds, you will never see another calm day in the USA!
Those who are working behind the scenes to steal this election are COUNTING on civil unrest so that Martial Law can be declared. This will truly be a sad day but, maybe it is needed.
There will be nothing civil about the next war.
So his tweets say different than this article? More MSM drama?
I think I would to after reading that trash...that guy doesn’t belong in America never less being an EV!!!
Waitaninit- so this was a lie from the Nee York Times? Pretty egregious. Even for them. Grounds for a lawsuit. They’ve endangered this guy.
Try it and they are going to find out REAL quick what the WILL OF THE PEOPLE exactly means. ;D
I think you’re right about that. Replace him.
Obviously, something went fishy with him all of a sudden, and we know electors are getting death threats and Loretta Lynch remains wholly uninterested in hearing about it.
hehe - that makes more sense - prolly Times creative editing!
I hope so as their readers were gushing over this guy like he was jesus.
Is it more fake news generated by the MSM?
There have been other articles posted about Christopher Suprun and his not voting for Trump.
