What really irks me is that republican house has already voted to repeal it many times over the past few years. Now we come to find out they never had a replacement? It shows me how serious these vipers really were about repealing it in the first place.

Repeal and get let Insurance companies write policies in any State rather than having each State a little risk pool unto itself.

Forget "little" compromises to let the Republicans come up with an alternative. They've had enough paid staff to have come up with a half dozen alternatives in the years since it was past and if they haven't done it yet they won't do it in three years. They'll delay the repeal three years from now and say they have a few changes that will straighten it out.

Repeal and if that hurts incumbent Republicans, so be it. The majority of them are halfwits and RINOs anyway.

Would those Democrats be more likely to vote with the GOP knowing that repeal has already been passed and that something needs to replace the exchanges ASAP?

Depends on the replacement. If there is gains to be made politically by blocking the replacement then the Democrats will do it and hang the lack of a plan on the Republicans repealing it in the first place.

What’s wrong with “repeal without replacement”?

The $10,000 question that nobody seems to have an answer for.

And if the insurance companies don't want to? The way the industry works there isn't a lot of incentive for them to do so.

So when it comes to Insurance, there's no faith in the free market ?

But, but, what about the invisible hand? It's going to be yanking off and leaving money on the table?

I suppose the real frustration, at least for me, is that Republicans seem to only be able to find the will to slow the advance progressive lawlessness and they never try to reverse it.

Illegal and unconstitutional from the word GO!. They were on the right track: kill it, stake through the heart, cut off the heart and burn the MF’er to the ground.

You’re right on one point. Now that they CAN do it, they don’t have marbles to actually go through with another vote; it just may pass.

Methinks a lot of HOR constitutional conservatives are phonies. They aren't about to abandon their paymasters in the insurance companies. JMHO

The fact that Ryan, Boehner and Mitch gave Obama every dollar he asked for, should have been a hint.
