I do the same by buying almost everything used. I get a good deal on the stuff I want, but my money isn’t going to china.

Not long ago, I went shopping for a pair of cowboy boots. When I went into Cavenders Western Wear, I'd say at least 60% of their boots were made in China. I had no idea they'd begun this practice.

So, when I was still on FB, I went out to Tony Lama site and Justin site...and wrote something like this, “The American Western boot made in CHINA! Are you kidding? I will never ever purchase a cowboy boot made in China”.

Then the FB likes started rolling in from others who didn't realize Tony Lama and Justin shipped these manufacturing jobs to China. Ping ping ping ping.

Not long after, marketing folks from both boot makers tried to stop the bleeding by posting something like, “We at Justin (Tony Lama) are proud of our quality...blah blah blah”.

What in sam hell do the chi-coms know about cowboy boots? A manufacturer knows full well the history behind these boots and the functionality they MUST posses.

I'll take a dirt nap before I'll ever purchase a cowboy boot made in China. Some things are just too sacred. lol

My latest pair...Dan Post! Whew hew.
