A surprisingly reasonable point of view from the Bee's resident "moderate".

He even reminds the ultra left of George Wallace "on the school house steps".

I think he's trying to bring them down easy...

For all of the handwringing among Democrats, it should be noted that when they controlled both houses of Congress and the presidency and exercised that power on other issues, such as enacting Obamacare, they did nothing about immigration.

A rare lucid moment for the Bee

Cut off all federal funding. Do they think they’re South Carolina in 1860?

"There’s no doubt that California’s illegal immigrants are a net benefit, especially economically. They provide vital workers for difficult jobs that few of us would willingly do and they pay taxes to support services that in many cases they cannot access due to their status."

Bullshit. Except maybe the part about doing some jobs others won't willing do. But isn't that exploitation?

I can’t put this book down: http://voxday.blogspot.com/2015/12/cuckservative-how-conservatives.html
“Cuckservatives: How Conservatives Betrayed America”

It is as important, I think, as a primer on “immigration” and the amnesty turncoats in our midst in 2016 as Ann Coulter’s revelations on the left and MSM bias 15 years ago.

So, CW2 could kick off with the secession of CA.
I guess I’ll never see Disneyland now.

“There’s no doubt that California’s illegal immigrants are a net benefit, especially economically.”

To some. They benefit at the expense of the majority.

Little butts fill the “schools” to keep the “teachers” pay checks coming. The jobs they take are still jobs. I don’t buy the “No one else would do them”, crap. They would pay more, that is all, and we would see the cost passed on and the real inflation that we are suffering which is hidden by this abuse.

The dirty secret is that the illegals are a benefit to only a small minority, and most of them get payed through taxes.

California is ruled by Moonbeam and his pinko followers. There is a huge percentage of Californians that don’t back this liberal crap. The fighting Mexicans may find resistance from whites, blacks, Oriental’s and even other legal Mexicans. California is similar to the whole United states. Only a certain geographic portion has gotten control of the state with the help of illegals voting.

CA will be in for a rude awakening when the fed $ begins to disappear.

I appreciate the economic powerhouse that CA is, despite the phenomenal taxes and regulation. But I’ve long suspected that if you pulled the fed $$ carpet out from under, it would absolutely collapse like a house of cards. I’m ready to try that.

If Trump removes those three million iilegals in California and does the exact same thing In New York, both California and New York become “RED” states. IMHO...Hillary Clinton lost the “popular vote” to Trump by about seven million votes....which were all illegal non citizen votes, dead people or folks that voted more then one time!!! The Democrat Party has never been involved in any election in which it did not cheat....big time!!!

Every state in the union must now make certain that every voter must prove they are an American citizen and present approved photo ID before being allowed to vote!!! The Federal government cannot do this. This is strictly a state function!!!

I take serious issue with their estimates, given that in CA alone, over 10 million residents are verifiably foreign born!

I'm certain CA is home to a minimum in excess of 1 million illegal aliens. and likely more than 2 million.

Maybe we should just build a wall around California and put all the illegals in there.

There’s no doubt that California’s illegal immigrants are a net benefit, especially economically.

Biggest lie ever told and I'm sick of hearing it.

Juan & Maria sneak across the border, she is 9 months pregnant and goes to the nearest hospital for a free birthing experience that produces a child that will get public benefits for at least 18 years. Over the next few years, Maria has 3-4 more free birthing experiences. Juan works hard and earns enough to get a UEIC of about $8K. Then there's free schools. There is no end to the gov't freebies this family will get, yet they are touted as Net Producers.

My standard reply to liberals is that we should be able to win the war on poverty and ameliorate income inequality by redirecting immigrants to 3rd world countries.

It also could be a test of how far California, or any state, can go in defying the federal government.

As the Legislature reconvened briefly Monday, its two top leaders, Assembly Speaker Anthony Rendon and Senate President Pro Tem Kevin de León, and others pledged to implacably resist Trump – to “fight in the streets,” as Sen. Ricardo Lara, D-Los Angeles, put it during a heated debate.
************************************************************

Who cares “how far they are willing to go to resist Trump”?

All Trump needs to do is cut off the money and move on to the next thing while the fools in CA wail and gnash their teeth.

A surprisingly reasonable point of view from the Bee's resident "moderate".

Moderate for a far left radical, but there is nothing moderate about the positions this idiot takes. He is sadly misinformed. Here are some of his stupid comments:

There’s no doubt that California’s illegal immigrants are a net benefit, especially economically.

No, stupid, they are a net drain on CA. They use welfare to a much greater degree than the native born. They take more in services than they pay in taxes, if they pay taxes. They are driving up healthcare, education, and incarceration costs.

They provide vital workers for difficult jobs that few of us would willingly do and they pay taxes to support services that in many cases they cannot access due to their status.

More BS. Doing jobs Americans won't do is nonsense. They are taking American jobs and depressing wages. In case this idiot hasn't heard, it is illegal for illegal aliens to work in this country and it is illegal for employers to hire them.

Sovereign nations have an inherent right to control their borders. Therefore, it’s ultimately up to Congress and the president to make much-needed changes in those laws,

How about enforcing the laws we have in place? Why do the laws need to be changed?

t’s also noteworthy that when the Obama administration was pursuing a very aggressive policy of identifying and deporting illegal immigrants

A big, heaping load of crap. Obama has deported less people than any administration in history. He has made it easier for illegals to come in here. Is it any wonder that the BP and ICE agent unions endorsed Trump, the first time they have ever endorsed anyone?

Finally, when adjacent Arizona was defying federal law and trying to impose stricter curbs on illegal immigration,?

No stupid. AZ was not defying federal law. They were trying to have it enforced. This idiot needs to read the SCOTUS decision on AZ SB 1070. Also, SCOTUS did uphold AZ's mandatory e-verify law in a separate decision.

Dear Donald Trump;

My recommendation on what to do with California is fairly simple. Since the State encourages illegal aliens and flaunts US immigration policy......any official identification they issue should not be recognized under the federal real ID laws.

So a drivers license will not be recognized as federal ID. A “regular” birth certificate will not be recognized as federal ID. It will be very difficult for California “residents” to pass/fill-out federal I-9 forms, apply for Social Security cards, etc.

It is not hard to shove, a rouge states actions up its collective “@ss” to the point that its residents demand from their elected officials a different outcome.

“As many as 3 million California residents are in the country illegally”

I would say that there is a minimum of 3 million California residents that are in the country illegally. Probably closer to 10 million.
