Wouldn’t it help create a need in the country that could be satisfied by USA manufacturing?
But it’s not tariffs alone. It’s coupled with reduction of income taxes (both individual and corporate) and reduction of crippling regulations to help encourage the formation of US manufacturing.

Wouldnt it help create a need in the country that could be satisfied by USA manufacturing? That's the theory, but I have never seen any economic study that supported the notion that our purchases of consumer products would remain unchanged if we moved every factory from a foreign country here to the U.S. and made them all here.
