Intelligence Committee Call On Obama To Declassify Evidence Of Russian Election Interference
Tech Dirt ^

Posted on 12/05/2016 3:45:38 PM PST by Lorianne

We've been a lot more skeptical than most about all the claims of "Russian interference" with the US Presidential election this year. While I don't doubt there was some effort to do something, Russia is such an easy scapegoat. Still, plenty of people insist that it's true, including those who at least should have a fair bit of insight into what actually happened. To me, the bigger issue is that attribution in many of these things is a lot more difficult than most people make it out to be.

Either way, it's quite noteworthy that seven Senators on the Senate Intelligence Committee have asked President Obama to declassify the evidence pointing to Russia and detailing what Russia actually did to attempt to interfere with the election. The Senators sent a very simple letter, which was released publicly, noting that a classified letter with a lot more details was also sent. Here's the entire text of the publicly released letter:

Dear Mr. President:

We believe there is additional information concerning the Russian Government and the U.S. election that should be declassified and released to the public. We are conveying specifics through classified channels.

Thank you for your attention to this important matter.

While they’re at it, they can ask how Obama interfered with Israeli elections to try and derail Netanyahu; how the US has interfered with elections in other countries (notably El Salvador, IIRC),

and what role the US has had in financing various political parties and movements in Europe and throughout the world, for the past few decades.

The ruse would be exposed that there is no interference.

They’ll close the issue by stating it’s classified and not for public consumption.

I very seriously doubt the Russians had anything to do with Trump getting elected. If so, I will need to add them to my Christmas card list.

This letter is part of the scripted coup of Trump’s admin. Didn’t it seem odd how much Stein and gang have been talking about foreign agents and Russian hackers without proof? Here’s comes the fake news train into town and this time I bet the media grabs onto it.

I think Obama and the democrats would rather keep the narrative and “fake news” alive, by pretending that there is intelligence about the Russians interfering in our elections, when they know that there wasn’t any such interference, and therefore, no intelligence on the issue. IOW, it’s better for democrats to keep the “fake news” alive, rather than to have people find out the truth.

The Russians didn’t write the leaked emails. The administration is the govt who interfered in the election by withholding information. If Putin did order interference then we really owe him a Christmas card.

It’s not like Trump won the election via a coup.

YES. Do release the evidence. Although... Coming from this administration nothing can be trusted.

Supposedly all of the democrats and all of the media believed Hillary had the election in the bag. Yet they were complaining about the Russians interfering with the election months before the vote. What would they have said if Hillary had won?

Also, even if they DID “interfere” there would be no proof the interference helped defeat Hillary.

Remember the key classification rules:

1. If it involves corruption - classify it.
2. If it involves incompetence - classify it.
3. If if is fake but supports propaganda - classify it.
4. If it is true but embarrassing - classify it.
5. And for the remaining 2% - classify it.

This letter is part of the scripted coup of Trump’s admin.

Yep, Trump's elections was a big bump in the road for them but they already have working groups generating plans to slow him down and get their guy or gal into office next time. The controlled media will do as they're told and follow the scripts given to them to a "T". "Russian Interference" and "Fake News" are two of their memes being pushed right now building the groundwork they will use to silence our voices in the next go-round.

Want to know which memes are coming from our NWO wannabe masters? Watch for news articles in the major publications where the comment section is closed. They can't afford to be outed by the common proles after they go to all the hard work of planning and implementing their lies and deceptions.

There is no evidence of actual Russian government hacking but the charge is to serious to be ignored

The Russians deny interfering. Media and administration claim they did. Who are you going to believe? Who is more credible? Joe Biden claims we are going to cyber attack them “covertly” in retaliation. Has anyone nominated him for a MacArthur Fellowship, or “Genius Grant?”

Those pesky Rooskies, what ever happened to the good old days when Democrats and Muscovites were pretty much the same thing?

YES. Do release the evidence. Although... Coming from this administration nothing can be trusted.

There is none but since intel is neither confirmed nor denied in public, they can get a headline implying there is solid evidence with certainty that nobody in the intelligence community will (a) comment on it either way and (b) release whatever information they do have, refuting or supporting the claim.

Then this unsubstantiated conspiracy theory claim just sits out there on all those "real" news sites like CNN, NBC, etc.

My guess is that they had a felling out. Russia probably progressed and left demRATs behind.

I imagine that those who wish to comment are already doing so here, on reddit or voat or twitter or Gab or any of the countless smaller forums available for discussion where ALL MSM is accepted as fake, already.

When my county went for Trump after 30 years of being reliably Dem, I knew most folks were keeping their thoughts to themselves or only sharing with their friends IRL.

Close comments, by all means. It just sends people elsewhere to discuss and that outlet looks insecure.

I use it as a tell, like in poker. A closed comment section lets me know which lies they think are important. I can't believe they didn't see the power of the internet early on and take it under control before people started learning for themselves and shunning the controlled media.

The 1st Amendment was first for a reason - our voting power is dependent on an informed populace and we can take care of our own education now through internet forums. The 2nd Amendment was second for a reason - it's the "or else" we give to our wannabe tyrants.
